JJWelch Construction is growing! We have immediate openings for experienced construction superintendents to oversee commercial renovation and ground-up construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience working for a general contractor managing the day-to-day field operations including site logistics, subcontractor coordination, and quality/safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for commercial renovation and ground-up projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and laborers.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide updates to project team.
- Oversee site safety, ensuring all personnel comply with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Perform daily site inspections to maintain quality control and resolve field issues.
- Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and city officials.
- Maintain accurate site documentation including daily reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience in commercial ground-up and renovation construction (retail, restaurant, office, and multi-use projects)
- Deep understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in project management software, Microsoft Office - Procore
- OSHA 30 certification
- MA Construction Superintendent License
