Consultant Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a consultant job in Minneapolis?
Focus your search on downtown Minneapolis and the North Loop, where the highest concentration of consulting firms, healthcare systems, and financial services employers cluster. Minneapolis rewards candidates who can show sector fluency: healthcare IT consulting, financial advisory, and operations management are particularly active. Networking through local professional groups and targeting mid-size regional firms alongside the large national players gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire consultants in Minneapolis?
Companies currently hiring consultants in Minneapolis include RSM, Everlight Solar, and Wells Fargo, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market mixes large healthcare systems and financial institutions with regional management consulting boutiques, giving candidates a range of firm sizes and specialties to target.
Are there remote consultant jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of work: analytical and strategy roles go remote far more often than on-site implementation or client-facing advisory roles. About 70% of consultant openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remainder requiring in-person presence. Research, data, and technology consulting roles tend to carry the most remote flexibility in the Minneapolis market.
How can I get a consultant job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Minneapolis is targeting analyst or associate consultant roles at regional healthcare or financial services firms, which regularly hire candidates from the University of Minnesota and local business programs. Smaller boutique consulting shops in the North Loop and Uptown often bring on junior staff with strong analytical skills and relevant internship experience. Lateral entry from a client-side analyst role at a Minneapolis-area corporation is another well-worn path into consulting locally.
Which industries hire the most consultants in Minneapolis?
Most consultant openings in Minneapolis sit in Energy and Accounting & Auditing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minneapolis's position as a regional hub for healthcare, financial services, and retail corporate headquarters creates consistent demand for both specialized and generalist consulting talent year-round.
