Consulting Intern Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a consulting intern in New York?

Most positions require enrollment in a bachelor's or MBA program, with degrees in business, economics, engineering, or a quantitative field preferred. Candidates who build a strong academic record, pursue case interview preparation through university consulting clubs, and target New York City-based firms during structured on-campus recruiting cycles have the strongest outcomes.
Which companies hire consulting interns in New York?

Which New York cities have the most consulting intern jobs?
The cities with the most consulting intern openings in New York are New York. New York City drives the largest share by far because it serves as the headquarters or major office location for most global consulting firms, while Albany's openings reflect demand from government consulting and public-sector advisory work, and Buffalo draws volume from regional financial services and healthcare strategy practices.

Yes, and more than many fields. About 100% of consulting intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of most consulting work. Research, data modeling, and slide development tasks are the portions of the role most commonly performed remotely, while client-facing project work typically still requires in-person presence.
