Position Summary
The Business Development Market Research Intern supports business development initiatives through market research, data collection, and analysis. This includes gathering and maintaining market intelligence, identifying prospective owners and partners, and supporting research projects that assist the Business Development team.
Success requires strong organization, attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage information from multiple sources while supporting various research initiatives.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Research residential buildings, management companies, ownership entities, and market segments using public records and internal resources.
- Gather and organize market intelligence related to prospective business opportunities and industry trends.
- Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and research records using internal systems and available resources.
- Keep research information accurate and complete, with appropriate documentation and updates.
- Analyze market information and industry activity relevant to business development initiatives.
- Identify potential opportunities through research of buildings, portfolios, and market conditions.
- Prepare concise research summaries and reports for Business Development associates.
- Verify and update property, client, and prospect information from multiple sources.
- Support research projects related to business development initiatives.
- Assist with prospect identification and lead qualification efforts.
- Prepare research materials and supporting documentation for meetings and presentations.
- Support special projects and assignments as directed by Business Development associates.
- Meet regularly with Business Development associates and support assigned research initiatives.
- Maintain continuity of research information and documentation.
- Follow established procedures for information gathering, reporting, and data management.
Additional Duties
- Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
- Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
- Follow all company policies, safety requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform additional projects, tasks and related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, economics, finance, real estate or a related field preferred.
- Previous internship, research, administrative or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Experience managing databases, spreadsheets or research projects preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large volume of information, priorities, deadlines, and follow-up activities.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to gather information, prioritize findings, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and data.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professional discretion.
- Ability to communicate research findings effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Works effectively with coworkers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.
- Must possess a high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.
Compensation:
$17-20/hourly
