Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our White Plains, New York (NY) office's Renewable Energy team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Our Electrical teams work on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more
- Gain exposure to solar/energy projects with a focus in battery storage and PV
- Assist with technical specification and report writing electrical equipment cost research
- Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards
HOURLY RATE RANGE:
- Hourly Rate Range: $36.00 - $37.00

- In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)

Summer internships are typically 10 to 12 weeks, so one summer usually stays under the threshold, but track cumulative hours across all CPT authorizations to avoid an unintended OPT impact.
How far in advance should I request CPT authorization for an EE internship?
Request CPT authorization at least two to four weeks before your start date, though some DSO offices require longer lead times. You'll need an offer letter specifying your start date, end date, and job duties. USCIS requires that authorization be in place before you begin working, so don't accept a start date you can't meet.
