CPT Logistics Jobs
Logistics CPT roles span supply chain coordination, freight brokerage, warehouse operations, and procurement, all areas where your DSO can authorize work as an integral curriculum component. Most roles require active enrollment in a supply chain, operations, or business program, and your CPT authorization must match the job description your employer provides.

Get Access To All JobsLogistics CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Do logistics roles qualify for CPT authorization?
Yes, if the work directly relates to your field of study. Supply chain management, procurement, freight operations, and inventory coordination roles qualify when your program has a logistics, operations, or business curriculum component. Your DSO makes the final determination based on how well the job description maps to your coursework, not the job title alone.
Can I work in a warehouse or distribution center on CPT?
Physical warehouse roles qualify if your academic program includes operations management, industrial engineering, or supply chain coursework, and the position involves analytical or coordination responsibilities. Purely manual labor roles without a clear curriculum connection are harder for DSOs to authorize. Ask your advisor to review the job description before you accept an offer.
How do I find logistics employers who are comfortable with CPT?
Search Migrate Mate for logistics roles filtered by employers with DOL filing history, these companies have already worked through work authorization paperwork and are more likely to understand CPT requirements. Third-party logistics providers and freight brokerages in major distribution hubs tend to hire CPT students more regularly than smaller regional carriers.
Does full-time CPT in logistics affect my OPT eligibility?
If you use 12 or more months of full-time CPT, you lose your OPT eligibility entirely. Part-time CPT, regardless of how many semesters you use it, does not count against OPT. Many logistics internship programs run 40 hours per week, so confirm your CPT authorization type with your DSO before accepting a full-time offer if you plan to use OPT after graduation.
Can I do CPT at a logistics company that later sponsors my H-1B?
Yes, and it's a practical path many F-1 students take. CPT employment does not prevent a future H-1B visa sponsorship relationship with the same employer. After graduation, you'd transition to OPT, and the employer would file an H-1B petition during the next registration window. Your CPT period builds the work history that strengthens that petition.
