Our highly skilled, passionate, and caring professionals provide psychotherapy, psychological assessment, rehabilitative skills for adults and children, and clinical consultation to community entities.

Adult Mental Health Rehabilitative Services (ARMHS) Practitioners teach and instruct individuals with qualifying mental health diagnoses behavioral skills to assist them in increasing their capacity for independent living and improve their quality of life. Successful ARMHS services result in individuals improved emotional and mental health to regain or maintain their stable functioning.
CSSM values its staff and offers a supportive, team-oriented work environment which provides employees opportunities to learn and expand their base of knowledge and skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, review, and update Functional Assessments and Individual Treatment Plans
- Provide skills training sessions to clients in the home or community settings
- Documentation of service provision and collateral contacts
- Coordination of care with client’s care team
- Participate in individual supervision and ARMHS program meetings
- Complete ongoing continuing education
- Maintain consistent scheduling with clients across CSSM’s service area
Some areas of focus within ARMHS include but are not limited to: Communication/social skills, community resource utilization, symptom management and relapse prevention, budgeting and healthy lifestyle practices, household management, and employment-related skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Does a mental health CPT job need to be in a clinical setting?
Not necessarily, but the role must be an integral part of your degree program's curriculum. Practicum placements at community health centers, school counseling offices, or inpatient units all qualify. Remote telehealth roles can also qualify if your program explicitly includes telehealth training and your DSO confirms the placement meets that requirement.
Can I do CPT at a private therapy practice as a mental health student?
Yes, private practices are eligible CPT employers as long as the position is authorized by your DSO and directly tied to your coursework. The practice must provide the supervised clinical experience your program requires. Make sure the supervising clinician holds the appropriate state license, since your school may require documentation of that credential before approving the CPT.
Will my CPT mental health hours count toward state licensure after graduation?
Most states count supervised hours earned during CPT toward licensure requirements, but the rules vary by state and credential type. Confirm with your state licensing board whether hours must be post-degree, and ask your employer whether their supervisor meets the board's approved-supervisor criteria before you start accumulating hours.
How do I find mental health employers who understand CPT work authorization?
Search Migrate Mate to identify mental health employers with a history of hiring international students. Employers already familiar with CPT authorization processes move faster through onboarding and are less likely to withdraw an offer due to unfamiliarity with F-1 work authorization rules. Hospital systems and federally funded community health centers tend to have established HR processes for this.
Is there a limit on how many CPT jobs I can hold during my program?
USCIS does not cap the number of CPT authorizations you can receive, but each position requires a separate DSO approval and must independently qualify as integral to your curriculum. If you accumulate 12 or more months of full-time CPT, you become ineligible for OPT after graduation, so tracking your total authorized hours carefully matters for your post-graduation work authorization planning.
