Credentialing Coordinator Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a credentialing coordinator in Florida?
Most credentialing coordinator roles in Florida require at minimum an associate degree in healthcare administration, health information management, or a related field, though many employers prefer a bachelor's degree. Florida does not issue a state license specific to credentialing coordinators, but earning the Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist designation through the National Association of Medical Staff Services demonstrates competency and is widely recognized by Florida healthcare employers as a strong differentiator.
Which companies hire credentialing coordinators in Florida?
Employers hiring credentialing coordinators in Florida right now include BayCare Health System, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Butterfly Effects, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large integrated health systems and managed care organizations generate consistent demand across both hospital-based and remote credentialing teams.
Which Florida cities have the most credentialing coordinator jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Coral Gables have the most credentialing coordinator openings in Florida. That distribution reflects the concentration of major hospital systems, insurance carrier regional offices, and multi-specialty physician groups in South Florida and along the I-4 corridor, while smaller markets like Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale see steady volume from community health networks and credentialing verification organizations headquartered there.
Are there remote credentialing coordinator jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most healthcare support roles, since credentialing is primarily a desk-based, document-driven function that translates well to remote work. About 100% of credentialing coordinator openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Florida health systems have adopted distributed credentialing teams. Provider enrollment and payer credentialing tasks are the most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a credentialing coordinator in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a lateral move from a medical front-office or health information role, such as a patient access representative, medical records coordinator, or insurance verification specialist, all of which build the payer and documentation skills Florida employers value. Large systems like HCA Florida Healthcare and AdventHealth regularly post entry-level credentialing assistant and enrollment support roles that require no prior credentialing experience. Completing the Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist exam or an online credentialing fundamentals course strengthens any application from a candidate without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to credentialing coordinator jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to credentialing coordinator jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings from healthcare systems, managed care organizations, and credentialing verification organizations across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to whichever ones fit.
