Part time Medical Receptionist, afternoons/evenings
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires a strong ability to multitask in order to answer phones, schedule patients, and perform various administrative tasks needed for managing a smooth start to finish experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and manage their inquiries with professionalism.
- Schedule and confirm appointments using medical scheduling software, ensuring efficient patient flow.
- Manage faxes in and out, sending medical records and files to doctors and insurance companies.
- Operate phone systems to handle incoming calls, direct inquiries, and take messages as necessary.
- Assist with administrative support tasks, including data entry and managing correspondence.
- Familiarize yourself with ICD-9 codes for accurate record keeping and billing processes (trained in house).
Experience
- Previous experience in a front desk or receptionist role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical administrative support is essential.
- Knowledge of medical records management and ICD-9 coding will be beneficial.
Qualities
- This is a pediatric clinic treating children with disabilities. As the first point of contact, it is essential that you are able to handle the rare times of conflict with patience, calm, and respect at all times. A personable disposition and a solid ability to maintain professionalism is highly important for this job.
Hours
- 3-7 Monday - Friday (flexible: able to adjust occasionally as needed)
