Many candidates strengthen their candidacy by earning the Credit Risk Certification from the Risk Management Association or pursuing CFA Level I, both well recognized by New Jersey commercial banks and financial institutions.
How much do credit analysts make in New Jersey?
Credit analysts in New Jersey earn a median of about $100,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,590 for the lowest 10% to over $169,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire credit analysts in New Jersey?
Employers hiring credit analysts in New Jersey right now include Columbia Bank (NJ), Cesna Recruitment, and PGIM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of major banks, insurance carriers, and corporate treasury departments makes it one of the more active states for consistent credit analyst hiring year-round.
Which New Jersey cities have the most credit analyst jobs?
Teaneck, Edison, and Newark account for the largest share of credit analyst openings in New Jersey. Jersey City and Newark anchor hiring due to their concentration of major bank operations and financial services firms, while Princeton draws openings tied to corporate treasury and risk functions at large pharmaceutical and insurance headquarters located in central New Jersey.
Are there remote credit analyst jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than many finance roles. Credit analysis is largely desk-based and document-driven, which makes it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 86% of credit analyst openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting an ongoing shift among banks and corporate finance teams. Portfolio review, financial modeling, and credit memo preparation are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a credit analyst in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior credit analyst or credit associate role at a community bank or regional lender, where New Jersey institutions such as Columbia Bank and Investors Bank have historically hired recent graduates. Candidates coming from roles like bank teller, loan processor, or financial analyst intern can leverage that adjacent experience. Completing the Credit Business Associate designation from the National Association of Credit Management gives early-career applicants a concrete credential that resonates with New Jersey commercial lenders.
