Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and prepare them for treatment
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
- Instrument sterilization
- Chairside assisting for various procedures like: composites, oral surgery, cosmetics
- Send lab cases
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients
- Properly disinfect operatory and stock materials
- Enter treatment through Dentrix
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Take proper radiographs
Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic, routine assisting techniques
- Basic knowledge of practice management software (Dentrix)
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Routine Procedures
- Full mouth rehabilitation: crowns, nightguards, occlusion therapy
- Oral surgery: extractions, PRP, grafting, membrane placement, implants
