Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize hydraulic systems for mobile equipment, industrial machinery, and heavy equipment applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in hydraulic circuit design, component selection, system analysis, and validation of hydraulic systems to ensure performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop hydraulic systems and circuits for mobile, industrial, or off-highway equipment.
- Create hydraulic schematics and system layouts using engineering design tools.
- Select and size hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators, hoses, and fittings.
- Perform hydraulic calculations related to flow, pressure, force, power, and system efficiency.
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot hydraulic issues during development and testing.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and product development activities.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Review and interpret customer requirements and translate them into hydraulic design solutions.
- Develop engineering documentation, specifications, test plans, and design reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in hydraulic system design and development.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, fluid power systems, and component functionality.
- Experience with hydraulic circuit design and schematic development.
- Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, actuators, accumulators, and control systems.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, mining equipment, automotive, or off-highway vehicles.
- Familiarity with electro-hydraulic control systems.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar software.
- Understanding of CAN communication and machine control systems.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, root cause analysis, and validation processes.
Nice to Have
- Experience with autonomous or semi-autonomous equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic testing and instrumentation.
- Exposure to product development lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with ISO and SAE hydraulic standards.
