Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilmington, MA for a RF/High Speed Instrumentation Systems Design Engineer. The engineer will design, develop, and validate RF and high-speed instrumentation systems, including system-level architecture, block diagrams, and specifications for complex mixed-signal solutions. Daily responsibilities include performing detailed system simulations and analysis, selecting components, defining interfaces, and collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure system-level performance targets are met. The role involves building and debugging prototypes, conducting lab measurements with RF and high-speed test equipment, and refining designs based on test data. The engineer will also prepare technical documentation, contribute to design reviews, support product introductions, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Systems Design and Systems Engineering skills for architecting, modeling, and integrating RF and high-speed instrumentation systems.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering and System Architecture for mixed-signal, RF, and high-speed circuit design, analysis, and optimization.
- Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles related to packaging, thermal management, and mechanical constraints in instrumentation systems.
- Experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, VNAs, high-speed oscilloscopes) and lab debugging of high-speed signal paths.
- Familiarity with simulation and design tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, RF/system modeling tools, and PCB design environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred or equivalent practical experience in RF/high-speed systems.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document designs and test results thoroughly.
- Experience in instrumentation, data acquisition, or test and measurement systems, and knowledge of signal integrity and EMC/EMI best practices are advantageous.
