Design Verification Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a design verification engineer in Texas?
Most design verification engineer roles in Texas require at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Texas does not impose a state-specific license for this role, so hiring is driven by technical qualifications rather than credentialing boards. Candidates who build hands-on experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and major EDA simulation tools while still in school are consistently competitive with Texas employers.
Which companies hire design verification engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring design verification engineers in Texas right now include Apple, SiFive, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's dense concentration of semiconductor and defense electronics firms means hiring is spread across Austin's chip design corridor, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and Houston's aerospace and energy-adjacent hardware sector.
Which Texas cities have the most design verification engineer jobs?
Austin, Richardson, and Dallas account for the largest share of design verification engineer openings in Texas. Austin leads because it anchors the state's semiconductor and fabless chip design cluster, with major campuses from companies like Texas Instruments and NXP drawing consistent demand, while Dallas-Fort Worth adds defense electronics and telecom hardware volume and Houston contributes through aerospace and industrial electronics employers.
Are there remote design verification engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely software-focused roles, since verification work frequently requires access to lab hardware, EDA tool licenses, and on-site simulation clusters. About 44% of design verification engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote options most often attached to the simulation and testbench development phases of a project rather than bring-up or lab validation work.
How can I get hired as a design verification engineer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to intern or new-graduate rotational programs at large Texas semiconductor employers such as Texas Instruments, which runs a well-known campus hiring program, or NXP Semiconductors, which recruits directly from Texas A&M, UT Austin, and other state engineering programs. Candidates coming from adjacent roles like digital design, FPGA development, or software QA often make a lateral move successfully. A strong portfolio of UVM testbench projects, even from coursework, gives early-career candidates a concrete edge in Texas interviews.
Where can I find and apply to design verification engineer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to design verification engineer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated in real time. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and location preference, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
