INTRODUCTION
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst I to join our procurement team. This role is pivotal in supporting our category strategy through data-driven insights, supplier research, and rigorous contract management. You will act as a key coordinator between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring that our sourcing processes—from initial research to final contract execution—are efficient, compliant, and value-oriented.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy & Analytics: Assist in developing category strategies by leveraging spend analytics and supplier research. Capture and report on key metrics including supplier spend, spend under management, and maverick spend.
- Contract Management: Maintain the accuracy of Ariba’s contract management module. Responsible for uploading and updating fully executed contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and other obligating documents.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct primary and secondary research, competitive analysis, and supplier evaluations. Assess supplier value propositions to determine if they align with business needs.
- Sourcing Execution: Identify potential suppliers for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. Manage the end-to-end contracting process for agreements up to $250,000, including negotiations and facilitating legal reviews.
- Supplier Relations: Coordinate meetings with potential vendors and serve as a point of contact for upcoming agreement expirations and renewals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or Supply Chain Management PLUS two years of professional job-related experience.
- Alternative: An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Procurement Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of sourcing principles, indirect procurement, and RFP processes.
- Analytical Rigor: Understanding of financial/cost analyses, business case development, and qualitative/quantitative decision modeling.
- Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to negotiate effectively with senior management and external partners.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong MS Office skills are required. Experience with SAP, Ariba, and Fieldglass is highly preferred.
- Problem Solving: An aptitude for conceptualizing and "selling" new concepts while maintaining an analytical approach to strategic development.
