Tips for Your Dynamics 365 Developer Job Search
Tailor your resume to each module
Recruiters scan for the specific Dynamics 365 module listed in the job posting. Customize your resume header and summary to name Finance and Operations, Customer Engagement, or Business Central explicitly, depending on the role, rather than listing all modules generically.
Show certifications on your resume early
Microsoft certifications like MB-500 or MB-300 are often listed as requirements, not preferences. Place them in a dedicated section near the top of your resume so hiring managers see them before reaching your work history.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists dynamics 365 developer openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Filter openings by deployment model
Dynamics 365 roles split between cloud-only, on-premises, and hybrid implementations. Check the job description for references to Finance and Operations on-premises or Dataverse-first architecture before applying, so your experience aligns with what the team is actually running.
Prepare a code walkthrough for interviews
Most technical screens ask you to walk through a customization you built, such as a plugin, a Power Automate flow, or an X++ class. Have one real example ready with the business problem, your design decisions, and any trade-offs you made.
Negotiate using your implementation scope
When discussing offers, be specific about the scale of deployments you have led, such as the number of business units, countries, or integrations involved. Concrete implementation scope gives you more grounding than general years of experience when making a case for a higher level or compensation band.
Dynamics 365 Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most dynamics 365 developers?
The companies hiring the most dynamics 365 developers right now include Crowe, ITC Worldwide, and EY, with the largest share of openings in Texas, Florida, and Illinois, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Demand is strongest at consulting firms and enterprise organizations in the middle of cloud migration projects.
How many dynamics 365 developer jobs are remote?
About 80% of dynamics 365 developer openings are fully remote or hybrid as of September 2026, making it one of the more flexible enterprise developer roles in the Microsoft ecosystem. Customer Engagement and Power Platform roles tend to have the highest share of fully remote positions, while Finance and Operations implementations often require on-site presence during go-live phases.
How do you become a dynamics 365 developer?
Start by building a foundation in C# or X++, then complete a Microsoft Dynamics 365 fundamentals certification to validate your knowledge of the platform. Work through the free learning paths on Microsoft Learn, focused on the module you want to specialize in, and build a hands-on project such as a custom plugin or Power Automate flow. Apply for junior or associate developer roles at consulting partners, where most entry-level Dynamics 365 experience is gained through client implementations.
Can you get a dynamics 365 developer job with little experience?
Yes, consulting partners and Microsoft value-added resellers regularly hire associate developers with foundational skills and a certification rather than years of production experience. Build a portfolio that demonstrates at least one end-to-end customization, complete the MB-300 or a module-specific certification, and target firms that staff junior developers on implementation projects where you can gain supervised hands-on experience quickly.
What does the dynamics 365 developer interview process look like?
Most hiring processes start with a recruiter screen focused on your module experience and certification status, followed by a technical interview where you walk through code you have written or explain how you would approach a common customization scenario. A final round often includes a practical exercise or architecture discussion with a senior developer or solution architect, and may include questions about your experience working alongside functional consultants during client deployments.
Where can I find and apply to dynamics 365 developer jobs?
You can find and apply to dynamics 365 developer jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your module experience and seniority level, then apply directly to each opening that fits.
