Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Account Director
Frame your CV for U.S. client metrics
U.S. hiring managers evaluate Account Directors on revenue retained, accounts grown, and team size. Translate your Australian portfolio into dollar figures and percentage growth so your credentials read as immediately comparable to domestic candidates.
Target agencies with multi-market client rosters
Large integrated agencies and holding companies like WPP, Omnicom, and IPG have dedicated immigration coordinators and file LCAs routinely. Mid-size independents often need educating on the E-3 before they'll commit to sponsorship.
Raise the E-3 before the offer stage
Introducing visa requirements after a verbal offer creates friction. Mention during final-round interviews that you're an Australian national eligible for the E-3, which requires no lottery and minimal employer cost, so legal approval isn't a surprise.
Confirm your degree field supports the role
DOL requires the LCA job title and duties to align with a specialty occupation. An Account Director role tied to strategic brand management is well supported by a business or marketing degree. A general arts degree may draw scrutiny and require additional documentation.
Use Migrate Mate to manage the filing process
Once your offer is signed, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This removes the coordination burden from your new employer and reduces the risk of delays before your start date.

Find Account Director JobsAccount Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Account Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering generic job boards manually, Migrate Mate surfaces Account Director positions at employers with confirmed sponsorship history, so you're not wasting applications on companies that won't support an E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Account Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. The E-3 requires the role to be a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Account Director positions tied to strategic client management, integrated marketing, or business development consistently meet this threshold. Roles that are more generalist or where any degree field is accepted may require a stronger supporting brief from your employer.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for an Account Director?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian Account Directors. There's no annual lottery, no cap risk, and the process moves faster since consular processing in Australia typically takes a few weeks rather than months. H-1B registration opens once a year in March and selection is random, meaning you could wait over a year for a slot. For a senior hire, most employers find the E-3 timeline far easier to work around.
Can I change employers on an E-3 while working in the U.S.?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and visa stamp for each employer. The E-3 is employer-specific, so if you're moving from one agency to another, your new employer files a fresh LCA with DOL before you start. If your current visa stamp hasn't expired you may be able to work under the new approval, but many Account Directors return to Australia for a new stamp to avoid any ambiguity about their status.
