Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Assistant Operations Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree satisfies E-3's degree requirement, but many U.S. hiring managers don't know this. Frame your qualification explicitly as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree on your resume and in interviews.
Target employers with existing E-3 or H-1B filing history
Operations-heavy industries like logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare administration regularly file work visas. DOL's public LCA disclosure data lets you verify which employers have sponsored international candidates in similar roles before approaching them.
Clarify specialty occupation status before accepting an offer
Assistant Operations Manager titles vary widely. Roles requiring a specific degree field, like supply chain management or industrial engineering, pass the E-3 specialty occupation test more cleanly than generalist management positions. Confirm the job description reflects this before your employer files the LCA.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Your employer must file a certified LCA with DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, reducing back-and-forth with your HR team.
Prepare your operations portfolio for the consular interview
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a degree. Bring project documentation, KPIs you've owned, and org charts showing your position. Evidence of budget responsibility or cross-functional leadership strengthens your specialty occupation case.
Time your application around your employer's LCA certification window
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days. Build that window into your start-date negotiation so your employer doesn't push a start date before your consulate appointment is scheduled and your visa is stamped.

Find Assistant Operations Manager JobsAssistant Operations Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Assistant Operations Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see employers who have actively sponsored visa candidates. General job boards don't filter by visa type, so you'll spend significant time screening out roles where sponsorship isn't on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Assistant Operations Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is scoped. E-3 requires the position to normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. An Assistant Operations Manager overseeing logistics systems or supply chain processes with a degree requirement in operations management, industrial engineering, or business administration will qualify. A generalist coordination role without a clear degree requirement is harder to support.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for operations management roles?
For Australian professionals, the E-3 is significantly more practical. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and you can apply directly at the U.S. consulate in Australia once your employer files a certified LCA. The H-1B requires a lottery registration in March, a cap slot, and a full USCIS petition process, which can add six to twelve months before you can start work.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 in an operations management role?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and your employer must be the one sponsoring your status. You can't transfer an E-3 the way you can port an H-1B under portability rules. You'll need a new visa stamp if your current one has expired, which means returning to a consulate in Australia or applying at a third-country post.
