E-3 Visa Azure Cloud Engineer Jobs
Azure Cloud Engineer roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship because they meet the specialty occupation requirement, a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is standard. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian engineers can pursue U.S. roles year-round without timing their applications around an H-1B visa draw.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Azure Cloud Engineer
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your degree to directly relate to the Azure Cloud Engineer role. A three-year Australian bachelor's in computer science or IT is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but have your transcripts ready to confirm field alignment.
Target employers with active DOL LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find companies that have filed LCAs for cloud or Azure engineering roles. These employers already understand the E-3 visa process and won't need educating about sponsor obligations.
Frame the E-3 advantage clearly in job conversations
Many U.S. hiring managers conflate all work visas with the H-1B lottery. Tell them upfront: the E-3 has no lottery, no cap, and requires no I-129 petition for consular processing, so their legal costs and timelines are significantly lower.
Confirm your job description meets specialty occupation criteria
A posting that says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required' can undermine your E-3 application. Before accepting an offer, verify the job description explicitly requires a degree in a specific technical field, not just any bachelor's degree.
Start the LCA filing as soon as you have an offer
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your visa appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so you're not waiting on back-and-forth between your employer's HR team and a law firm.
Plan your consulate appointment around project start dates
E-3 visas are issued for up to two years, tied to your LCA validity period. Book your consulate appointment in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth as soon as your LCA is certified, and align the start date on your offer letter to your target entry date.
E-3 Visa Azure Cloud Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Azure Cloud Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. It filters jobs by visa type so you're only seeing employers open to the E-3 process, which saves time compared to screening generic job postings that rarely specify visa support for Australian nationals.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Azure Cloud Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Azure Cloud Engineer positions consistently require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a closely related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies to E-3 petitions. The key is ensuring the job description explicitly states a degree requirement in a specific technical discipline, not just any degree.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Azure Cloud Engineers?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, so you can apply at any time of year and get a decision in weeks rather than waiting for an annual draw. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per year with a random selection process, meaning many qualified engineers aren't selected at all. For Australian citizens, the E-3 is a more reliable path into U.S. cloud engineering roles.
Can I switch Azure Cloud Engineer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S., or a change of status if you're already inside the country. There's no portability provision like the one available for H-1B holders under AC21, so plan the transition timeline carefully around your current visa's expiry date.
