DESCRIPTION
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Data-driven decision-making is at the core of Amazon’s culture and people who are exceptionally talented at analyzing large sets of data to build insights are critical. Your work will directly impact the decisions and strategy of the entire AWS Infrastructure Services org and our customers. You will be gathering customer needs and insights, mining large and diverse data sets from across AWS Infrastructure, building visualizations and tools for our business partners, generating insights to help senior leaders make critical business decisions. Hence, the successful BIE will not only possess the expertise and passion for analyzing data, designing metrics to measure the performance of the business, and building reporting capabilities and tools, but also will interact directly with business leaders and teams that rely on the metrics and analyses that they produce.
The successful candidate will be an expert in data analytics (data engineering and visualizations), and have exemplary verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will need to be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail. The candidate will have to work closely with business partners to answer key business questions through the analytics their team creates. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, deep knowledge of tools and platforms (like SQL, Tableau, Redshift, Glue, Airflow) for developing business intelligence solutions as well as ability to communicate clearly, and collaborate with both business owners and other analytics teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs.
- Work directly with customers to understand the business problems at hand and propose impactful analyses and solutions.
- Partner with data engineers to develop automated solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of our vast data sources and identify which to use to solve specific business problems.
- Manage prioritization of business intelligence requests, allocate work across the team, and be responsible for communications with our customers.
- Lead the creation of user-friendly repeatable reporting solutions to minimize ad hoc customer requests.
- Hire, mentor and develop business intelligence engineers.
- Serve as a senior SME and mentor for SQL and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Write high quality SQL to retrieve and analyze data from relational databases (e.g., AWS Redshift).
- Manage and improve our internal customer communication channels (e.g., wikis, data dictionaries).

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Business Intelligence Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
The DOL requires your degree field to match the BI Manager role directly. A business analytics or information systems degree maps cleanly, but a general commerce degree may need a credential evaluation letter confirming equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's in a relevant field.
Target employers with existing data infrastructure teams
Companies running dedicated data engineering, analytics engineering, or enterprise reporting functions are already familiar with LCA obligations and specialty occupation documentation for BI roles. They're far less likely to stall at the sponsorship conversation than a company hiring their first analyst.
Use Migrate Mate to find E-3 sponsorship roles
Migrate Mate filters Business Intelligence Manager jobs by employers who have sponsored E-3 or H-1B visas before, saving you from cold-applying to companies that will decline at the offer stage. Search by role, location, and sponsorship history in one place.
Address the specialty occupation question before your interview
BI Manager roles sometimes blend strategic and operational work, which can complicate the specialty occupation argument at the LCA stage. Prepare a clear written summary of how your role requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just general business knowledge, before the offer conversation begins.
Confirm your employer will certify the LCA before you resign
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your consulate appointment is valid. Get written confirmation of their intent to certify the LCA, including the job title and worksite location, before giving notice at your current position.
Streamline filing by using Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process from LCA submission through consulate preparation, reducing the risk of documentation errors that can delay your start date or trigger a 221(g) administrative processing hold.

Find Business Intelligence Manager JobsBusiness Intelligence Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Business Intelligence Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship history. You can filter Business Intelligence Manager positions by employers who have previously sponsored work visas, which removes the guesswork of approaching companies that have no sponsorship infrastructure. Applying through channels that surface sponsorship-ready employers dramatically improves your offer conversion rate.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Business Intelligence Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as information systems, computer science, business analytics, or a closely related discipline. Roles that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field can face scrutiny at the LCA stage. The strongest E-3 cases for BI Managers tie the degree requirement explicitly to the technical and analytical competencies listed in the job description.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Business Intelligence Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, which means Australian nationals can apply at any time of year and start as soon as the consulate processes the application. H-1B selection is lottery-based with a single annual filing window. For BI Manager roles, which are in consistent demand at mid-to-large enterprises, the E-3's year-round availability means you're not locked into an October 1 start date or waiting 12 months for another lottery cycle.
Can my employer change my job title or responsibilities after my E-3 is approved?
Material changes to your job duties, title, or worksite location after approval can affect your E-3 status validity. If your employer restructures the role significantly, a new LCA certification is required to reflect the updated position. Minor adjustments within the scope of the original specialty occupation description are generally acceptable, but changes that alter the core degree requirement or principal work location trigger a fresh filing obligation.
