Verify your CMD credential transfers cleanly
U.S. employers filing an E-3 visa LCA need your role to meet specialty occupation criteria. Your Australian medical physics or dosimetry degree and MDCB certification both support that, confirm your credential equivalency before applying so your employer's LCA isn't delayed.
Target academic medical centers and cancer institutes
Teaching hospitals, NCI-designated cancer centers, and large radiation oncology networks sponsor E-3 visas most consistently. These institutions have dedicated HR teams and existing LCA filing infrastructure, which shortens the time between offer and approved sponsorship paperwork.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Certified Medical Dosimetrist roles by employers with active E-3 or LCA filing history. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who have never navigated Australian visa sponsorship before.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing an offer
Some employers assume the E-3 process mirrors H-1B visa and budget incorrectly. Confirm upfront that your offer letter covers the LCA filing with DOL and consular visa fees, not just your salary, gaps here can delay your start date by weeks.
File your LCA before scheduling your consulate appointment
DOL must certify your LCA before you attend your E-3 visa interview in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. Standard LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but your employer needs to post the public access file first, build this into your timeline.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end paperwork
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA preparation, DOL submission, and consulate documentation. For dosimetrists coordinating a start date around radiation oncology department scheduling, having a dedicated expert manage the process reduces the risk of timeline-breaking errors.
E-3 Visa Certified Medical Dosimetrist: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Certified Medical Dosimetrist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for Australian dosimetrists searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship history. It filters positions by employers who have filed LCAs for similar roles, so you're targeting radiation oncology programs and cancer centers that already understand the E-3 process rather than educating a recruiter from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does Certified Medical Dosimetrist qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes. The role requires at least a bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry, radiation physics, or a closely related field, which meets the specialty occupation standard under the E-3 visa. USCIS and DOL assess this at the LCA stage, and dosimetry roles consistently satisfy the degree-in-a-specific-field requirement given the technical and clinical nature of the work.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Certified Medical Dosimetrist?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no April registration deadline. H-1B requires entering a random selection process with roughly a 25% selection rate in recent years. For Australian dosimetrists, the E-3 means a predictable timeline from offer to consulate appointment, typically two to eight weeks once the LCA is certified.
Can I transfer my MDCB certification and Australian dosimetry experience to a U.S. E-3 role?
Your MDCB certification is internationally recognized and accepted by U.S. employers as evidence of clinical competency. Australian dosimetry training under a medical physicist supervisor aligns with U.S. residency pathways, and your degree will be assessed as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's by most radiation oncology departments. You don't need to repeat credentialing, but confirm with the specific employer's credentialing office before your interview.
