Verify your degree meets specialty occupation requirements
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in nursing or health sciences are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but your employer's immigration team will need to confirm this before filing. Gather official transcripts and a credential evaluation early.
Target health systems with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) to find hospitals and health networks that have certified LCAs for care coordinator roles. Prior filings signal a compliance process that's already in place, not one your offer will have to build from scratch.
Clarify whether the role title matches a specialty occupation
Job postings for Care Coordinator roles sometimes list a bachelor's degree as preferred rather than required. That distinction matters for E-3 eligibility. Before accepting an offer, confirm the employer will document the degree requirement explicitly in your offer letter and LCA.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate prep
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, and the DS-160 has healthcare-specific fields that trip people up. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment so nothing falls through the gap.
Ask your employer about E-Verify enrollment before signing
Some health systems require STEM OPT students to verify E-Verify enrollment, but for E-3 holders the employer doesn't need E-Verify unless state law requires it. Knowing this upfront prevents unnecessary delays during onboarding if HR conflates the two requirements.
Negotiate a start date that accounts for consulate appointment wait times
Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consulates have different appointment availability, and the E-3 process cannot begin until your LCA is certified. Build at least six to eight weeks between your offer acceptance and your intended U.S. start date to avoid having to reschedule.

Find Clinical Care Coordinator JobsClinical Care Coordinator E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Clinical Care Coordinator jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Clinical Care Coordinator roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Many health systems don't advertise E-3 support explicitly but will sponsor qualified Australian candidates once they understand the process. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active sponsorship history so you're targeting roles where the infrastructure already exists.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Clinical Care Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the role must require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, typically nursing, health administration, or a closely related discipline. Roles that accept any degree or list education as preferred rather than required may not meet the specialty occupation standard. Your offer letter and LCA must document the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Clinical Care Coordinator roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no lottery and no annual cap, which means you can apply at any time once you have a qualifying job offer. H-1B requires winning a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate and an October start date. For Australian healthcare professionals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Care Coordinator?
Yes, but you'll need a new LCA certified by the DOL and a new E-3 visa or change of status before starting with the new employer. The E-3 is employer-specific, so your authorization is tied to the sponsoring organization. Start the transfer process well before your last day to avoid any gap in work authorization.
