Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Contract Recruiter
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Contract Recruiter roles must meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard. A degree in HR, psychology, or business administration directly supports your petition. If your Australian degree is in an adjacent field, document how your coursework maps to recruiting practice.
Target employers with contract hiring programs
Staffing agencies and in-house talent acquisition teams at mid-size to enterprise companies regularly hire contract recruiters. Prioritise employers whose HR teams already hold active LCAs, as they understand the DOL filing requirement before your visa application can proceed.
Verify the LCA is filed before signing
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your consulate appointment. Confirm this step is in the offer timeline, not an afterthought. A recruiter role starting before LCA certification puts your status at risk.
Clarify contract structure with the sponsoring employer
E-3 sponsorship ties you to the petitioning employer, which creates complications in contract roles where the paying entity differs from the worksite client. Confirm in writing which entity is sponsoring and whether the LCA reflects your actual place of work.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Contract Recruiter sponsorship involves LCA filing, DS-160 completion, and consulate preparation. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the entire process from offer acceptance to your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth consulate appointment.
Prepare for dual intent questions at the consulate
E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will assess whether you intend to return to Australia. Bring documentation of ties to Australia and a clear statement of the contract term. Recruiting roles are not inherently permanent, which can work in your favour.

Find Contract Recruiter JobsContract Recruiter E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Contract Recruiter jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Contract Recruiter roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Most job boards don't surface visa sponsorship status accurately, which wastes time on applications that go nowhere. Migrate Mate aggregates roles from employers with documented E-3 and LCA filing history, so you're targeting companies that already understand the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Contract Recruiter role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as human resources, business administration, or organisational psychology. The key is that the employer's job description must specify a degree requirement, not just list one as preferred. Roles framed as general administrative or coordination work without a degree requirement won't qualify.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Contract Recruiter positions?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no lottery and no annual cap, unlike the H-1B where selection is random and chances are limited. For Contract Recruiter roles, this means you can apply at any time of year and your employer can sponsor you without waiting for a lottery result. Renewals are also indefinite in two-year increments.
Can I switch contract employers while on an E-3 visa?
Switching employers on an E-3 requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp if yours expires, or you can use automatic revalidation in some cases. You can start with the new employer once the LCA is certified and your new E-3 is approved. There's no portability rule equivalent to H-1B AC21 provisions.
