Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Data Integration Developer
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
DOL requires your degree to directly relate to the Data Integration Developer role. A three-year Australian bachelor's in computer science or information systems satisfies this, but a general IT degree paired with an unrelated job description may not.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for data engineering or ETL roles. These employers already understand the E-3 visa process and won't need educating on sponsorship requirements.
Find E-3 sponsoring roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you've secured an offer. The platform surfaces Data Integration Developer roles from employers already familiar with E-3 sponsorship, reducing back-and-forth during the hiring process.
Clarify SOC code alignment before offer stage
Your employer's LCA must list a Standard Occupational Classification code matching your actual duties. Data Integration Developers often sit under software developer or database administrator codes. Confirm which SOC code applies to your specific role before the offer is finalised.
Prepare ETL and integration project documentation early
Consular officers assess specialty occupation through your supporting evidence, not just your degree. Gather project specs, architecture diagrams, or employer letters that describe your work with tools like Talend, Informatica, or Azure Data Factory in technical terms.
Understand the LCA prevailing wage tier before negotiating
DOL's prevailing wage determination sets a floor for your offered salary based on your job location and SOC code. Knowing the applicable wage level before entering salary discussions ensures your offer satisfies USCIS requirements and avoids delays at the LCA stage.
E-3 Visa Data Integration Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Data Integration Developer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter Data Integration Developer roles by employers who have a history of E-3 or H-1B visa filings, which signals genuine sponsorship willingness rather than a job listing that happens to say 'visa sponsorship available.'
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Data Integration Developer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided your job duties require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, information systems, or software engineering. Roles focused on ETL development, data pipeline architecture, or system integration consistently satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Roles where the employer accepts any bachelor's degree regardless of field are at higher risk of a challenge.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Data Integration Developer roles?
Both visas require specialty occupation status, but the E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply any time of year after securing a job offer. H-1B registrations open once a year in March with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is consistently the faster and more reliable path into a U.S. data engineering role.
Can I switch Data Integration Developer employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes. The E-3 is employer-specific, so changing roles requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp if you travel internationally. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and your new visa documentation is in order, without waiting for USCIS approval of a separate petition.
