Our Mission
Reflection’s mission is to build open superintelligence and make it accessible to all. We’re developing open weight models for individuals, agents, enterprises, and even nation states. Our team of AI researchers and company builders come from DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Brain, Meta, Character.AI, Anthropic and beyond.
Role Overview
Data is playing an increasingly crucial role at the frontier of AI innovation. Many of the most meaningful advances in recent years have come not from new architectures, but from better data. In this role, the data operations you build will directly shape how our models perform on critical capabilities — agentic tool use, long-horizon reasoning and robust safety alignment. You'll work with world-class researchers advancing the frontier while building the operational infrastructure to scale these efforts.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of Reflection’s research, product and business roadmap and derive from these the data needs and sourcing strategies.
- Work closely with researchers to understand nuanced technical requirements, define quality bars, then orchestrate partnerships and data pipelines that meet them.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to maximize research velocity without compromising in the quality of data partnerships.
- Manage these partnerships including evaluating suppliers, negotiating agreements, and verifying deliverables.
- Develop deep knowledge of the broader data ecosystem to identify gaps and opportunities to innovate at the frontier.
- Combine the technical depth to understand what makes high-quality training data with the operational excellence to deliver it.
- Anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, risks and inefficiencies across data operations to maximize throughput and impact.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, venture capital, private equity or consulting. We will also consider high-trajectory candidates with fewer years of experience and an exceptional track record – often former startup founders.
- Have owned large ambiguous problems end-to-end and can break them down into clear actionable plans.
- Are comfortable engaging senior leaders, influencing decisions and driving alignment across teams.
- Thrive in fast-moving, high-pressure environments, bringing resourcefulness, adaptability and ideally a sense of humor to pair with the sense of urgency.
- Are highly analytical with strong intuition for what are the important questions, rigorous in investigating and clear in communicating insights to decision-makers.
- Can operate at all levels from discussing strategy and vision with leadership, to troubleshooting issues with individual contributors and external partners.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical domains.
- Have experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Excel or similar.
- Are genuinely curious about LLM training, and care deeply about the impact of AI on business, research and society.
Bonus Points
- A technical background such as a computer science degree and/or experience in engineering, product, data science or AI.
- Direct experience with data collection, labeling, or annotation for machine learning / AI systems.
- Worked with research teams at AI companies or research-oriented organizations.
- A track record of managing large numbers of diverse vendors and external contractors.
- A consulting background, with experience translating complex requirements into concrete deliverables.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Data Operations Manager
Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
DOL requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Document how your degree directly maps to data operations work, not just general management, so your LCA filing doesn't get flagged during DOL review.
Target employers with data infrastructure teams
Companies running large-scale data pipelines in finance, healthcare, and logistics regularly hire Data Operations Managers and understand E-3 sponsorship. Filter by organizations with dedicated data engineering or analytics functions rather than startups without established HR processes.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate for Data Operations Manager roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers with active LCA filing history, so you're applying to companies already set up to sponsor Australian professionals.
Get your LCA certified before your consulate date
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before you can attend your visa interview. Build at least two weeks into your timeline for LCA certification, plus consulate scheduling lead time in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
Clarify data tool ownership in your job description
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a specialized degree. A job description that lists specific platforms like Snowflake, dbt, or Airflow strengthens the specialty occupation argument more than generic management language.
Handle paperwork end-to-end without a delay
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and visa paperwork. Errors in wage attestation or job duty descriptions are a common reason E-3 applications stall at the consulate stage.

Find Data Operations Manager JobsData Operations Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Data Operations Manager jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended way to search. It filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility and surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history for data operations positions. This saves you from applying to companies unfamiliar with the E-3 process or unwilling to take on the LCA filing requirement.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Data Operations Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like information systems, data science, or computer science. Roles that accept any degree in any field are harder to qualify. Your job offer letter should specify the degree requirement clearly, and your employer's LCA filing must reflect that same specificity to satisfy DOL standards.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Data Operations Manager roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and you can apply at any time of year. The H-1B cap is 85,000 with a heavily oversubscribed lottery, meaning most applicants don't get selected. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to working in data operations in the U.S.
Can I switch employers after starting work on an E-3 as a Data Operations Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa reflecting the new position. If you're outside the U.S., you attend another consulate appointment. If you're inside the U.S., you can change employers once the new LCA is certified, but you cannot legally work for the new employer until that certification is complete.
