Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Dental Assistant
Verify your credential equivalency early
Australian three-year dental or oral health degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before you start applying so employers don't stall on your specialty occupation determination.
Target private dental groups over solo practices
Multi-location dental groups and DSO networks have dedicated HR teams familiar with LCA filings and E-3 paperwork. Solo practitioners often decline sponsorship not from unwillingness but from unfamiliarity with the DOL process.
Search E-3 sponsorship roles with Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Dental Assistant listings by employers who have active E-3 sponsorship history. Searching general job boards surfaces roles where sponsors are unverified and you waste applications on practices that won't file.
Clarify specialty occupation framing in your offer letter
Ask your employer to specify in the offer letter that the role requires a degree in dental science, oral health, or a directly related field. A generic Dental Assistant description without that degree requirement can fail the DOL's specialty occupation test at the LCA stage.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your visa interview can proceed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so you and your employer aren't navigating FLAG portal submissions and prevailing wage determinations independently.
Book your consulate appointment before your I-94 expires
If you're already in the U.S. on another visa status, your E-3 consular interview must be scheduled to avoid a gap in authorized stay. USCIS does not process E-3 change-of-status petitions, so consular processing in Australia is your only route.

Find Dental Assistant JobsDental Assistant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Dental Assistant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Dental Assistant roles filtered by employers with confirmed E-3 sponsorship history. General job boards don't flag E-3 willingness, so you end up applying to practices that have never filed an LCA and aren't set up to start. Migrate Mate surfaces employers already familiar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Dental Assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Dental Assistant position that requires a bachelor's degree in oral health, dental science, or a directly related field can qualify. Roles where any background or an associate degree is acceptable typically don't meet the specialty occupation standard. Your offer letter and employer's job requirements carry significant weight in the DOL's determination.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Dental Assistant roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals and has no annual lottery, meaning you can apply at any point in the year without being excluded by a random draw. The H-1B has an annual cap of 85,000 slots and a lottery that rejected around 75 percent of registrants in recent years. For Australians, the E-3 path is more predictable and faster to execute once a qualifying offer is secured.
Can my E-3 visa be renewed if I stay in the same Dental Assistant role?
Yes. The E-3 is renewable indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer and your employer files a new LCA for each renewal period. There is no cap on the number of renewals, and you don't need to restart the process from scratch each time, provided your role still meets the specialty occupation requirements.
