Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Director Of Financial Operations
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business satisfies the E-3 educational requirement, but get your transcripts evaluated by a NACES-member credential evaluator before applying so employers don't question your qualifications.
Target employers with existing finance visa infrastructure
Focus on publicly traded companies, private equity-backed firms, and multinationals that routinely file LCAs for finance roles. These employers already understand the E-3 process and won't stall at the sponsorship conversation.
Confirm the LCA wage level matches your offered compensation
The DOL's prevailing wage determination for Director of Financial Operations roles can sit at wage levels III or IV. Verify your offer meets the certified wage before your employer submits the LCA to avoid a refiling delay.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to streamline your application
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, from DOL submission through consulate prep, so nothing stalls between offer acceptance and your start date.
Prepare for consular scrutiny on dual-intent and intent to return
E-3 visa interviews for senior finance roles can involve questions about your long-term plans. Have a clear narrative about your Australian ties, such as property, family, or professional memberships, alongside your U.S. employment documentation.

Find Director Of Financial Operations JobsDirector Of Financial Operations E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Director of Financial Operations jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Director of Financial Operations roles where employers are open to E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for Australian professionals, so you're not sifting through listings that exclude visa applicants. Targeting employers with LCA filing history in finance significantly improves your response rate.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Director of Financial Operations role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. The role requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field, which satisfies the DOL's specialty occupation definition. The key is that the specific position must require that degree, not merely prefer it. Job descriptions listing a degree as preferred rather than required can create complications at the LCA stage.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for this role?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is substantially more practical. There's no annual lottery, no 85,000-slot cap, and the process from LCA filing to visa stamp can take as little as a few weeks. H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate and waiting until October 1 for employment to begin. For a Director of Financial Operations hire, most employers find the E-3 timeline far easier to plan around.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 in a Director of Financial Operations role?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally. You can begin work with the new employer once the LCA is certified and your new visa documentation is in order. Unlike H-1B portability rules, the E-3 doesn't allow you to port to a new employer on an existing petition.
