Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Verify your credential equivalency early
Australian three-year education degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year bachelor's degrees for E-3 purposes, but have your qualifications assessed before applying so your employer can confirm specialty occupation eligibility with confidence.
Target districts with IDEA compliance obligations
Public school districts receiving federal funding under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act are legally required to staff early childhood special education roles with qualified specialists, making them more familiar with sponsorship and more motivated to navigate it.
Search for E-3 sponsorship using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Early Childhood Special Education Teacher roles from employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. Filtering by verified sponsorship saves weeks of outreach to districts that don't understand the visa or won't engage.
Get state teacher licensure before your job search
Most U.S. states require a state-issued special education teaching license, not just a degree. Research the reciprocity or equivalency pathway for your target state before interviewing so licensure delays don't stall your offer or LCA filing.
Clarify who files the LCA with your employer
The E-3 requires a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before your consulate appointment. Many school HR teams don't know this step exists, so confirm upfront whether the district will file directly or whether you'll use a third-party service.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. School districts rarely have in-house immigration expertise, so having a dedicated service prevents filing errors that delay your start date.

Find Early Childhood Special Education Teacher JobsEarly Childhood Special Education Teacher E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Early Childhood Special Education Teacher jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Early Childhood Special Education Teacher roles from employers with verified E-3 sponsorship history. Many school districts are willing to sponsor but don't advertise it explicitly, so filtering by sponsorship status cuts through the noise and connects you with employers who are already prepared to file.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. USCIS recognizes early childhood special education as a specialty occupation because the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in special education or a related field. You'll also need to demonstrate that your specific position requires that degree, which most accredited school programs and early intervention settings do by their own licensing standards.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian special education teachers?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for this role. H-1B selection depends on a randomized lottery with no guarantee of a slot, while the E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap that affects individual applicants. Australian teachers can apply directly at a U.S. consulate after receiving a job offer and a certified LCA, without waiting for a registration outcome.
Do I need a U.S. state teaching license before applying for the E-3 visa?
Not necessarily before the visa is issued, but most school districts require state licensure before your start date. Some states offer provisional or emergency permits while you complete the full equivalency process. Confirm the licensing timeline for your target state during salary negotiations so your employer can build it into your onboarding plan without delaying your LCA filing.
