Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Education Consultant
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in education satisfies E-3 visa requirements, but many U.S. hiring managers assume four years is the minimum. Attach a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized evaluator to your application materials before outreach begins.
Target employers who already file LCAs
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for employers who have previously filed for Education Consultant or Instructional Designer roles. A company with LCA history understands the E-3 process and is far less likely to withdraw an offer over sponsorship concerns.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsored roles fast
Migrate Mate filters Education Consultant jobs by E-3 visa sponsorship history, so you're applying to employers who have actually sponsored Australians before, not just those who say they're 'open to sponsorship.'
Clarify specialty occupation before the offer stage
Education Consultant roles that blend project management, client relations, and curriculum work can face specialty occupation scrutiny. Before accepting an offer, confirm the job description explicitly requires a degree in education, instructional design, or a specific content field.
Get your LCA certified before your start date
Your employer must file the LCA with DOL and receive certification before you can apply for the E-3 at a U.S. consulate. Build at least 10 business days for LCA processing into your onboarding timeline so your start date isn't delayed.
Hand off the filing paperwork to a dedicated service
Education Consultant roles often involve multiple worksites or client locations, which adds complexity to LCA filings. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing is missed when your role spans more than one employer site.
E-3 Visa Education Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Education Consultant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Education Consultant roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't distinguish between employers willing to sponsor and those with actual E-3 filing history. Migrate Mate surfaces positions where the employer has previously sponsored Australian professionals, which dramatically reduces the back-and-forth about whether sponsorship is possible.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Education Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as education, instructional design, curriculum development, or a relevant subject-matter discipline. Roles described only as requiring 'a degree in any field' or where a general business degree is routinely accepted may not meet the specialty occupation standard. The job description language matters significantly at the consulate stage.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Education Consultant roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and no registration fee. The H-1B visa requires entering a random lottery with roughly 25% selection odds in recent years. For an Education Consultant with Australian citizenship, the E-3 is a direct path to U.S. employment without the uncertainty of the H-1B registration cycle. Both require the employer to file an LCA and both require the role to meet specialty occupation criteria.
Can I work across multiple schools or client sites on a single E-3 visa?
You can work across multiple locations, but your employer must file a separate LCA for each location where you'll work more than sporadically. If your Education Consultant role involves regular on-site work at different client schools or districts, your employer needs to list each worksite on the LCA or file a blanket LCA covering the relevant geographic area. Failing to do this is one of the more common compliance gaps in consulting roles.
