Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Curriculum Specialist
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
U.S. hiring managers may not recognize Australian qualifications by name. Frame your Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma explicitly as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree, and clarify your curriculum frameworks experience in terms of U.S. Common Core or state standards.
Target districts and edtech companies with prior E-3 history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for certified Labor Condition Applications under Standard Occupational Classification 25-9031. Employers who have filed LCAs before understand the process and won't need convincing that E-3 sponsorship is straightforward.
Frame your specialty occupation case before the offer stage
Curriculum Specialist roles must meet the specialty occupation definition, meaning the position requires a specific degree field, not just any bachelor's. Confirm with your prospective employer that the job description explicitly states an education or instructional design degree requirement.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and visa paperwork
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before you can apply for the visa. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end, so neither you nor your employer needs to navigate federal portals independently.
Time your consulate appointment around school hiring cycles
Most curriculum roles are hired in spring for fall start dates. Build in at least six to eight weeks for LCA certification and consulate scheduling after you receive your offer letter, so your visa is in hand before your intended start date.
Prepare a degree-to-role alignment document for your interview
USCIS scrutinizes whether your specific degree field directly supports the role. Bring a one-page summary mapping your degree coursework to your curriculum responsibilities. This strengthens your visa application and signals preparedness to skeptical hiring managers.

Find Curriculum Specialist JobsCurriculum Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Curriculum Specialist jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Listings on the platform are filtered for employers open to E-3 candidates, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa. Search by role title and location to find Curriculum Specialist openings directly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Curriculum Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as education, curriculum and instruction, or instructional design. If the job description only requires a degree in any field, the specialty occupation requirement may not be met. Ask your employer to specify the required degree field in your offer letter and the LCA filing to strengthen the case.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Curriculum Specialist roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and no limit on renewals. H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap and requires winning a random lottery. For Curriculum Specialists, this means E-3 is a far more predictable path because your visa approval depends on meeting the specialty occupation criteria, not on a random selection event.
Can I switch from one curriculum employer to another while on E-3 status?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally after changing jobs. You can begin working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and you have documentation of the new role, but you cannot use your previous employer's LCA. Plan for a two to four week DOL processing window when timing a job change.
