Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Electrophysiology Cardiologist
Verify your ECFMG certification before applying
U.S. hospitals won't file an LCA for an international medical graduate without active ECFMG certification. Confirm your certification is current and matches the name on your Australian passport before sending any applications.
Target academic medical centers with EP programs
Large academic centers and integrated health systems run dedicated electrophysiology labs and have immigration counsel on staff. These employers file E-3 LCAs regularly, so your sponsorship request won't be their first.
Request an LCA before signing your contract
The DOL must certify your Labor Condition Application before you can apply for the E-3 visa stamp. Ask your prospective employer to initiate the LCA through FLAG as soon as an offer is verbal, not after contract execution.
Negotiate state licensure timeline into your start date
E-3 approval doesn't guarantee you can practice immediately. Each state's medical board sets its own timeline for issuing a full cardiology license, so build at least 60 to 90 days of licensure processing into your negotiated start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
EP cardiologist roles involve specialty occupation documentation that must align precisely across the LCA, DS-160, and consulate packet. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, reducing filing errors that delay your start date.
Prepare a role-specific specialty occupation letter
Consular officers occasionally query whether a cardiologist subspecialty qualifies as a specialty occupation distinct from general internal medicine. Your employer's support letter should cite the fellowship training requirements and board certification criteria specific to electrophysiology.
E-3 Visa Electrophysiology Cardiologist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find electrophysiology cardiologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists electrophysiology cardiologist positions from employers who have active E-3 and LCA filing histories, so you can filter for sponsorship-ready roles rather than cold-applying and hoping HR will engage. Academic medical centers and large cardiovascular group practices are the most consistent source of sponsored EP positions in the U.S.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does the E-3 visa work differently from H-1B for electrophysiology cardiologists?
Yes, significantly. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no registration period. You can apply at the U.S. consulate in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth as soon as your employer's LCA is DOL-certified. H-1B requires a March registration, a random lottery draw, and a wait until October 1 to start work.
Can I work across multiple hospital sites on a single E-3 visa?
Each worksite must be covered by an LCA that lists that specific location. If your position involves splitting time between a main hospital campus and a satellite EP lab, your employer needs to file an LCA that includes all sites before you begin work there. Adding a new site after the fact requires an amended LCA, not a new visa.
What happens to my E-3 status if my hospital credentialing is delayed?
Your E-3 visa and I-94 authorize employment with that specific employer in that specific role, but you can't bill or practice clinically until credentialing clears. The visa itself remains valid during the delay. If credentialing extends beyond your I-94 expiry, your employer will need to file an E-3 renewal or you'll need to depart and re-enter on a new visa stamp.
