Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Engineering Supervisor
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian engineering degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's for E-3 purposes. Bring your academic transcripts and, if needed, a credential evaluation to confirm equivalency before your first interview.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
Engineering firms that have filed Labor Condition Applications before know the E-3 process and won't delay your offer over paperwork uncertainty. Use DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing employers with recent E-3 or H-1B LCA filings.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Engineering Supervisor roles by employers willing to sponsor E-3 visas, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once an offer is confirmed.
Clarify your supervisory scope during offer negotiations
Engineering Supervisor roles must demonstrate specialty occupation status, meaning the position requires a specific engineering degree. If your duties straddle general management and technical work, ensure the offer letter emphasizes the engineering-specific responsibilities that justify E-3 eligibility.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA before resigning
The employer must obtain a certified LCA from DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Some smaller engineering firms don't realize this step is their responsibility. Lock in a written timeline from your employer covering LCA filing and certification before giving notice in Australia.
Book your consulate appointment after LCA certification
Don't schedule your U.S. consulate interview until the DOL-certified LCA is in hand. Attempting to interview without it will result in a 221(g) administrative hold. Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth all process E-3 applications, with appointment wait times varying by location and time of year.

Find Engineering Supervisor JobsEngineering Supervisor E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Engineering Supervisor jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search Engineering Supervisor roles with confirmed E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up spending time on roles where the employer has never heard of the E-3. Migrate Mate surfaces employers already familiar with the process, which shortens the path from application to offer.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Engineering Supervisor role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a directly related field. The role must call for specialized knowledge, not just general supervisory experience. If the job description accepts any bachelor's degree or substitutes experience freely for a degree, USCIS may challenge specialty occupation status. Your offer letter should specify the engineering discipline required.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Engineering Supervisor roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and no wait for a registration slot. H-1B applicants face a randomized lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate in recent years. For an Australian engineering professional with a confirmed offer, the E-3 is a direct path: the employer files an LCA with DOL, you attend a consulate interview, and you begin work.
Can I change employers while working in the U.S. on an E-3 as an Engineering Supervisor?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp before starting with them. Unlike H-1B portability rules, you can't simply transfer your E-3 status. Plan your transition carefully: don't give notice until the new LCA is certified and your consulate appointment is scheduled.
