Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Environmental Health And Safety
Translate your Australian EHS credentials first
OSHA standards differ from Australian Work Health and Safety legislation. Document how your WHS training, incident investigation experience, and compliance frameworks align with U.S. federal and state OSHA requirements before contacting employers.
Target industries with mandatory EHS compliance programs
Manufacturing, oil and gas, construction, and chemical processing employers carry federal OSHA obligations that make dedicated EHS staff non-negotiable. These sectors file LCAs regularly and are far more familiar with E-3 sponsorship than general office employers.
Confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
E-3 approval depends on the position requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. EHS roles tied to engineering, environmental science, or occupational health pass this test. Safety coordinator titles without a degree requirement often don't, so review the job description carefully before accepting an offer.
Ask employers about LCA filing timelines upfront
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply at the consulate. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but asking about this step early ensures the employer isn't surprised by the requirement and doesn't stall your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
EHS offers frequently move quickly once employers decide. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation so you're not learning the process at the same time you're trying to finalize your employment start date.
Search Migrate Mate to find verified E-3 sponsorship roles
Most EHS positions aren't advertised with explicit visa sponsorship details. Migrate Mate filters environmental health and safety jobs by E-3 sponsorship history so you can focus on employers who have already navigated the process for Australian candidates.

Find Environmental Health And Safety JobsEnvironmental Health And Safety E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find environmental health and safety jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find EHS roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship history. Standard job boards rarely tag positions by visa type, which means hours of research per application. Migrate Mate filters specifically for employers who have sponsored E-3 visas, letting you focus on roles where the path from offer to consulate appointment is already established.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Do environmental health and safety roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations?
Most mid-to-senior EHS positions qualify, but the determination depends on the specific job description rather than the title alone. The role must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a field directly related to the work, such as environmental science, occupational health, or engineering. Entry-level safety coordinator roles that accept any degree or equivalent experience are more likely to face scrutiny at the consulate, so the offer letter wording matters.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for EHS professionals?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals, but that exclusivity works in your favor. There's no annual lottery, the 10,500 annual cap has never been reached, and you can apply at the consulate after receiving a job offer rather than waiting months for a USCIS decision. H-1B requires your employer to enter a lottery in April with a roughly one-in-four selection chance. For EHS roles, the E-3 is a far more predictable path.
Can I transfer my Australian WHS qualifications to support an E-3 application?
Yes, but you'll need to frame them in U.S. terms. Your employer's LCA filing and your consulate interview both focus on whether the role is a specialty occupation and whether your credentials meet that standard. A formal credential evaluation that maps your Australian degree to a U.S. bachelor's equivalent strengthens your application, particularly if your qualification is a three-year Australian degree rather than a four-year program.
