Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in RN Float Pool
Get your CGFNS credentials evaluated early
U.S. employers need proof your Australian nursing degree meets their state board's equivalency standard. Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) certification reports satisfy most state licensing boards and strengthen your sponsorship case before you apply.
Target health systems using float pool models
Large hospital networks and regional health systems staffing multiple units from a central float pool are your best targets. Their HR teams handle E-3 visa filings regularly, unlike smaller practices or outpatient clinics that may not know the process.
Confirm your NCLEX pass before contacting recruiters
Without an active U.S. RN license, no employer can file your Labor Condition Application. Pass the NCLEX and obtain your state license first so sponsorship conversations start on solid ground rather than stalling at the credential stage.
Search for E-3 sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find RN Float Pool roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation end-to-end.
Ask employers about prevailing wage before accepting
Your offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for RN positions in that metro area. Float pool roles often pay shift differentials that affect the wage calculation, so verify the base salary satisfies the LCA requirement before signing.
Understand your E-3 is employer-tied until you transfer
Your E-3 authorizes work only for the petitioning employer. If you change health systems or move to a different float pool program, your new employer files a fresh LCA and you attend a new consulate appointment before starting.
E-3 Visa RN Float Pool: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find RN Float Pool jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists RN Float Pool roles from employers who are open to E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to hospitals that have never handled Australian nurses before. Filter by role and location, then apply directly to employers already familiar with the LCA and consulate process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an RN Float Pool role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Float pool RN positions require a bachelor's degree in nursing and a state RN license, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation standard. The role's direct connection to a specific academic field distinguishes it from generalist positions. USCIS consistently treats registered nursing as a qualifying specialty occupation.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian nurses?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year without competing for a random slot. H-1B visa registration closes in March and results are randomized. For Australian RNs, the E-3 is a direct path to U.S. employment without the uncertainty of the H-1B lottery cycle.
Can I work at multiple hospital sites on one E-3 visa?
Your E-3 is tied to the sponsoring employer, not individual facilities. If your float pool assignment keeps you within the same health system, you're covered under the original LCA. Placement at a different legal entity, such as a contracted agency or separate hospital network, requires a new E-3 petition and LCA filing.
