DESCRIPTION
At Amazon, data is critical to everything we do, from understanding product inventories across our global fulfillment centers to predicting what products to recommend to customers. Data ceaselessly informs our flywheel, helping us to understand customer needs, onboard new sellers and selection, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Business Data Technologies (BDT) provides trustworthy, intuitive, and cost-efficient solutions for Amazonians to secure, store, analyze, and transform this data at unparalleled scale. BDT owns, develops, and operates Andes, one of the largest data lakes in the world, storing 3+ exabytes of data, read/written to by 100k+ data pipelines, with >60k monthly active users. To do this, we need extraordinary individuals to build the next generation of data analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions for thousands of scientists, engineers, and analysts who rely upon us to get their jobs done.
The BDT-AI4ME organization works to bring AI-centric methodologies and automations to Amazon organizations needing to connect their business teams and objectives with their data teams and architectures. The BDT-AI4ME organization seeks to lower the cognitive load needed to connect business to data through best of class agents and AI-ready metadata to allow anyone to access data to gain insights.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager in the BDT-AI4ME organization, you understand ways that enterprises apply AI to solve business and technical problems. You understand the ways that Amazon’s business teams work with their data teams, and you seek to reduce friction and error-proneness of those interactions using AI. You drive lightweight mechanisms that bring visibility to leadership, share best practices, and provide better communication and collaboration across teams. This role works closely with Tech Directors, VPs and Principal Engineers to identify patterns, new trends, goals and areas for cross-org collaboration. This role does not support just one organization but rather focuses on best practices that can be applicable to multiple organizations across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
You focus on the needs of business users as they navigate data from question to insight. You formulate goals and plans for transforming the ways Amazon extracts value from its data through iterative improvements involving AI enablement, process optimization, role guidelines, and org design.
As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Field Account Manager
Align your degree to the role
Consular officers assess whether your Australian degree directly supports a Field Account Manager position. A degree in business, marketing, or communications strengthens your case. A mismatch between your qualification and the role description is a common denial trigger.
Target employers with active LCA history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have certified LCAs for account management roles before. Repeat sponsors already understand the E-3 visa process, which shortens your time from offer to visa approval.
Request an offer letter specifying specialty occupation
Before your employer files the LCA, confirm the offer letter explicitly describes your Field Account Manager duties in terms of specialized knowledge, not just territory coverage or revenue targets. USCIS scrutinizes account management roles for specialty occupation status.
Clarify your travel schedule before filing
Field Account Manager roles often involve multi-state travel. Confirm with your employer whether your primary worksite is fixed or variable, since DOL prevailing wage obligations attach to each location where you perform work for more than 30 workdays per year.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and visa prep
Once you have a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation. End-to-end management reduces errors that stall approval, especially for account management roles that require careful specialty occupation documentation.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
Australian E-3 applicants must demonstrate nonimmigrant intent at their visa interview. Have a clear answer ready about your Australian ties, since consular officers at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth regularly ask Field Account Manager candidates about long-term plans.
E-3 Visa Field Account Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Field Account Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Field Account Manager roles from employers already set up to sponsor E-3 visas, so you're not wasting time on companies unfamiliar with the process. Filter by role and location to find opportunities where the employer understands LCA filing obligations and the specialty occupation standard that applies to account management positions.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Field Account Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. Field Account Manager positions qualify when the employer can demonstrate that a bachelor's degree in a specific field is normally required for the job, not just preferred. Roles framed around territory coverage or sales quotas alone are harder to qualify than those tied to technical product knowledge or strategic client management requiring a business or industry-specific degree.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Field Account Manager roles?
The E-3 is significantly more accessible for this role. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and the application goes directly to a U.S. consulate in Australia rather than through a USCIS petition process. H-1B visa requires employer sponsorship months in advance, a lottery registration, and approval before you can start. E-3 can move from offer to visa approval in weeks, not months.
Can I switch Field Account Manager employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and visa documentation for the incoming employer before you start working. Unlike H-1B portability, the E-3 doesn't allow you to begin with a new employer simply by filing a new petition. Your new employer must complete the LCA process and you'll likely need a fresh visa stamp from a consulate in Australia before resuming work.
