Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Finance Specialist
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics satisfies the E-3 degree requirement. State this explicitly on your resume and in cover letters so hiring managers don't flag your qualification as non-equivalent before sponsorship conversations begin.
Target employers with active DOL LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify finance employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before. Prior LCA filings signal that a company understands the E-3 process and won't back out once they've extended an offer.
Find Finance Specialist roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Finance Specialist positions filtered by E-3 sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers who are familiar with Australian visa requirements, so you spend time on roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than an afterthought.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Disclose your E-3 visa requirement in the first recruiter call, not after an offer. Finance roles often involve background checks and HR compliance reviews; late disclosure can stall or kill offers at companies that treat visa sponsorship as a new budget line.
Verify the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
The job description must require a degree in a specific field like accounting, finance, or economics, not just any bachelor's degree. If the posting says 'degree preferred' or lists unrelated fields, ask the employer to confirm USCIS's specialty occupation standard applies before accepting.
Let Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handle your LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission to DOL, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment coordination. Finance employers without in-house immigration counsel often delegate the entire process when a flat-fee service handles it end-to-end.

Find Finance Specialist JobsFinance Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Finance Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Finance Specialist roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship availability. The platform focuses specifically on employers open to Australian visa requirements, which eliminates the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the E-3. Roles in FP&A, corporate finance, and financial reporting are common categories where sponsorship appears.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Finance Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a closely related field. The key test is whether the degree requirement is specific rather than generic. A role accepting any bachelor's degree, regardless of field, may not satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard, so the job description wording matters significantly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Finance Specialist roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens but has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year and receive a decision without waiting for a selection round. The H-1B requires lottery registration each April, with no guarantee of selection. For Australians in finance, the E-3 is the faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment authorization.
What happens to my E-3 status if I change finance employers?
The E-3 is employer-specific, so changing jobs requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with the DOL and for you to either apply for a new E-3 visa at a consulate or, in some cases, change status from within the U.S. You should not stop working for your current employer until the new authorization is in place to avoid a gap in lawful status.
