Data ceaselessly informs our flywheel, helping us to understand customer needs, onboard new sellers and selection, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Business Data Technologies (BDT) provides trustworthy, intuitive, and cost-efficient solutions for Amazonians to secure, store, analyze, and transform this data at unparalleled scale. BDT owns, develops, and operates Andes, one of the largest data lakes in the world, storing 3+ exabytes of data, read/written to by 100k+ data pipelines, with >60k monthly active users. To do this, we need extraordinary individuals to build the next generation of data analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions for thousands of scientists, engineers, and analysts who rely upon us to get their jobs done.

Key job responsibilities
You focus on the needs of business users as they navigate data from question to insight. You formulate goals and plans for transforming the ways Amazon extracts value from its data through iterative improvements involving AI enablement, process optimization, role guidelines, and org design.
As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Financial Project Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, or business qualifies as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Gather your academic transcripts and, if your degree is three years, obtain a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency before applications begin.
Target employers with active project delivery functions
Focus on employers running large capital programs, infrastructure builds, or technology transformations, these organisations routinely need Financial Project Managers and are more likely to have HR teams familiar with E-3 sponsorship than smaller companies filing for the first time.
Clarify the LCA requirement early with your hiring manager
The employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa application can proceed. Raise this in the offer stage, not after signing, delays happen when hiring managers assume the process starts at USCIS rather than the DOL.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your paperwork
From LCA certification through to consulate preparation, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles each step end-to-end. This is especially useful when your employer's HR team has no prior E-3 experience and needs a clear process to follow from offer to approval.
Frame the no-lottery advantage in employer conversations
Unlike H-1B visa, the E-3 has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, so you can start any time of year without waiting for an October 1 start date. Employers weighing H-1B uncertainty will find this directly relevant to their project timelines.
Prepare project portfolio evidence for your consulate interview
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a degree-level financial professional. Bring documentation linking your project management experience to financial oversight responsibilities, budget accountability, cost reporting, or capital allocation work strengthens your specialty occupation case.
E-3 Visa Financial Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Financial Project Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship in the U.S. Rather than filtering through general job listings, Migrate Mate surfaces Financial Project Manager roles at employers with demonstrated sponsorship willingness, saving you from cold outreach to companies unfamiliar with the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Financial Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as finance, accounting, business administration, or project management. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field can face scrutiny, so the job offer letter should clearly state the educational requirement tied to the financial and analytical responsibilities of the position.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Financial Project Managers?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. You can file and start work at any point in the year, and the two-year renewable status suits project-based roles well. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per year with a randomised selection process, meaning many qualified candidates are not selected despite employer support.
Can I change employers or move between projects on an E-3?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before the change takes effect. If you're moving between projects within the same employer, no new visa is required. Moving to a new company while inside the U.S. is permitted, though the timing of LCA certification matters for maintaining continuous authorised status.
