E-3 Visa Group Leader Jobs
Group Leader roles in operations, manufacturing, and research qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when the position requires a degree in a specific field. Australian professionals can pursue E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, and the visa renews indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying Group Leader position.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Group Leader
Frame your credentials around specialty occupation
Group Leader titles vary by industry. Before applying, document how your Australian degree directly maps to the supervisory or technical functions of the specific role. Consular officers assess specialty occupation at interview, not just at the LCA stage.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for employers who have previously certified Group Leader or team lead roles under the E-3 category. Repeat filers already understand the process, which shortens your offer-to-start timeline significantly.
Clarify supervisory scope in your job offer letter
E-3 petitions for Group Leader roles occasionally face scrutiny when the position blends management with hands-on technical work. Get your offer letter to specify the degree requirement explicitly and describe the professional-level judgment the role demands.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment, and Group Leader roles in regulated industries sometimes require additional wage documentation. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment so nothing is missed.
Verify Australian degree equivalency before your interview
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but consular officers can ask for credential documentation. Have your academic transcripts and a credential evaluation ready before your appointment.
Negotiate your start date around LCA processing time
DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but employer payroll setup and internal approvals add time. Build at least three to four weeks between your signed offer and your proposed start date so your employer can complete the LCA without rushing.

Find Group Leader JobsGroup Leader E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Group Leader jobs in the U.S. that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Unlike general job boards, it filters for employers familiar with the E-3 process and surfaces Group Leader positions across operations, manufacturing, and technical fields where the visa is a practical fit.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Group Leader role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Group Leader position qualifies as a specialty occupation when a bachelor's degree in a specific field is genuinely required to perform the job, not just preferred. Roles that blend professional judgment with team oversight typically qualify, while general supervisory positions that accept any degree field may not.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Group Leader roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap that restricts access, which means Australian nationals can apply for a Group Leader role year-round and start without waiting for an October 1 cap date. The H-1B requires lottery selection and a six-month lead time, making the E-3 far more predictable for both you and your employer.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Group Leader?
Yes to both, but each requires a new LCA. Changing employers means your new company files a fresh LCA and you typically need a new visa stamp unless you are changing status from within the U.S. A promotion to a materially different role, such as a senior Group Leader with expanded responsibilities, also requires a new LCA to reflect the updated position and prevailing wage level.
