Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Plant Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial management satisfies E-3 specialty occupation requirements. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency before applying so hiring managers and immigration counsel can confirm equivalency without delays.
Target manufacturers with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers that have filed Labor Condition Applications for plant or operations management roles. Prior LCA filings signal a company already understands E-3 sponsorship mechanics, which shortens internal approval timelines significantly.
Clarify specialty occupation status early in interviews
Plant Manager roles can face specialty occupation scrutiny if the job description lists duties that don't clearly require a degree. Bring documentation linking your engineering or operations degree to specific technical responsibilities in the role before the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission with the DOL, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment coordination. This avoids the common mistake of letting employers file incorrectly and delaying your start date.
Understand your 60-day grace period when changing plant employers
If your plant closes or your role is eliminated, USCIS allows a 60-day grace period tied to your current E-3 status to find a new sponsoring employer. Your new employer files a fresh LCA, so start that process immediately rather than waiting for formal notice.

Find Plant Manager JobsPlant Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Plant Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for Australian professionals searching for Plant Manager roles with E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you waste time on roles where the employer won't sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers who have confirmed E-3 sponsorship capacity for this specific role category.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Plant Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It can, but the role must demonstrably require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations management. Generic Plant Manager postings that list a degree as preferred rather than required can fail the specialty occupation test. Roles at larger facilities with complex technical oversight are stronger candidates than general supervisory positions.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Plant Manager roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals but has no annual lottery and no numerical cap that affects most applicants. H-1B petitions enter a randomized lottery each April with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For a Plant Manager, the E-3 means you can start the filing process any time of year and receive a decision without waiting for a lottery outcome.
Can my E-3 be sponsored by a manufacturing plant that is a subsidiary of a foreign parent company?
Yes. The E-3 employer must be a U.S.-based legal entity that files the LCA with the DOL and employs you at a U.S. worksite. Foreign ownership of the parent company doesn't disqualify the sponsorship as long as the U.S. subsidiary is the petitioning employer and the role is based at a U.S. facility.
