At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we partner with creators as they experiment with a range of cutting-edge tools that bridge innovation with imaginative storytelling. Come join INK to shape what’s next and explore the creative possibilities.
The Role
We're looking for a Head of Production Finance within the Animation Ink studio, to build and lead the production finance function from the ground up. This person will partner with senior creative, business, technology, and production leaders to establish sound financial infrastructure, own budgeting and reporting across the business, and build processes that will scale with INK as it grows. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how production finance operates in a brand-new part of Netflix, and to be the senior production finance voice and partner for the business from day one.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Production Finance point of contact and trusted advisor for INK, partnering with senior creative, business, technology, and production leadership.
- Build and lead a small, high-performing production finance team, providing mentoring, coaching, and development as INK scales.
- Own end-to-end financial management of INK’s slate, including production budgets, estimated final costs, cost reports, and cash flow.
- Design and implement production finance processes, EFCs, policies, and tools suited to a startup environment, adapting standard Netflix Production Finance practices where needed.
- Liaise with HR, Labor Relations, Content Accounting, FP&A, Internal Audit, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and IT to stand up and maintain production finance operations.
- Manage production incentive strategy and workflow, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of tax credits or cash rebates.
- Review budgets, cost reports, trial balances, and reconciliations; identify risk areas early and partner cross-functionally to resolve them.
- Represent Production Finance in conversations with Netflix leadership, acting as a strategic business partner and steward for the function.
- Research and evaluate new tools and technologies to support production finance at INK, recommending what to adopt as the entity scales.
- Stand up relevant systems, partnering with Netflix IT and cross-functional teams where needed.
- Stretch to assist with additional corporate operations functions and projects in INK as needed.
- Bring an Inclusion & Diversity lens to leadership and team-building, helping create an equitable, inclusive environment as the team grows.
- Stay current on industry trends, production incentives, and evolving infrastructure relevant to the INK slate.
Qualifications
- 10-12+ years of production finance and/or production accounting experience, including experience leading and developing a team. Direct animation experience is highly preferred.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes from scratch; a builder mentality suited to a startup environment.
- Strong understanding of production budgeting, cost reporting, cash flow management, and production incentives.
- Proven ability to influence and partner with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of GL systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and production accounting systems (e.g., Global Vista, PSL+).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adjust to different audiences and represent Production Finance credibly across the business.
- Solutions-focused, proactive, and curious, with sound judgment on team structure, hiring, and talent decisions.
At INK, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $250,000-410,000. This reflects total compensation; we do not have bonuses.
Inkubator benefits can include medical/dental/vision plans, mental health support, retirement programs, and family-forming benefits, paid leave of absence programs, and paid time away programs to be used for vacation and sick paid time off.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

Align your credentials to U.S. standards
An Australian three-year bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Gather your transcripts and have them ready before you begin outreach to U.S. employers.
Target employers with active finance hiring
Focus on U.S. companies that regularly hire senior finance leadership rather than those advertising sponsorship generically. CFO searches at mid-market firms and public companies carry higher E-3 approval rates because the specialty occupation case is straightforward for Head of Finance roles.
Frame sponsorship as a low-burden process
Many U.S. finance hiring managers assume visa sponsorship means H-1B lottery risk. Explain upfront that the E-3 has no lottery, no cap anxiety, and requires only an LCA filed with DOL before your consulate appointment. That reframe moves most objections quickly.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have an offer, the LCA and consulate preparation can stall timelines if handled ad hoc. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, so your start date stays on track and your employer isn't left navigating DOL requirements alone.
Negotiate offer timing around LCA certification
DOL certifies LCAs within seven business days in most cases, but your employer needs to post a public notice for ten business days before filing. Build at least three to four weeks between signed offer and target start date to absorb this without pressure.
Prepare CPA or CA documentation before interviews
If you hold a Chartered Accountant designation or CPA qualification, bring official certification letters and transcripts to your consulate appointment. Consular officers reviewing Head of Finance applications sometimes request evidence that your credentials meet the specialty occupation threshold beyond the degree alone.
E-3 Visa Head Of Finance: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Head of Finance jobs in the U.S. that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards that don't track visa support, Migrate Mate surfaces Head of Finance openings at employers who are already open to E-3 candidates, saving you from spending weeks on outreach to companies that won't sponsor.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Head of Finance role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Head of Finance roles require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field, which meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard. The role involves applying theoretical and practical knowledge in highly specialized areas like financial reporting, treasury management, and regulatory compliance, all of which support a strong specialty occupation case.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Head of Finance hire?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, so your employer can sponsor you at any time of year with a predictable outcome. H-1B registrations are subject to a random lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate. For a senior finance role where the hiring timeline matters, the E-3 removes the single largest source of sponsorship uncertainty your employer would otherwise face.
Can I change companies while on an E-3 as a Head of Finance?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new visa stamp before starting with the new employer. Unlike H-1B portability rules, the E-3 doesn't allow you to begin work on an application-pending basis. You'll need to attend a fresh consulate appointment in Australia or a third country before your new role begins.
