Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Hospice Director
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Your Australian registration with AHPRA and any palliative care leadership credentials don't automatically map to U.S. expectations. Request a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved body so hiring committees can verify your qualifications against U.S. standards before sponsorship conversations begin.
Target hospice operators with existing LCA history
Large hospice networks and nonprofit health systems that have filed Labor Condition Applications before move faster on E-3 sponsorship. Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for LCA filings under healthcare management job titles to identify employers already familiar with the process.
Use Migrate Mate to search E-3 sponsorship jobs
Migrate Mate lists Hospice Director roles from U.S. employers open to E-3 sponsorship, filtering out postings that require existing authorization. Start your search there to avoid spending time on employers who won't file an LCA.
Clarify licensure requirements before accepting an offer
Most U.S. states require a Hospice Director to hold a current state nursing or social work license, or at minimum a healthcare administrator license. Confirm your Australian license is transferable or identify the endorsement steps required in your target state before the employer files the LCA.
Address the E-3 specialty occupation test in your offer letter
The role must require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just prefer one. Ask your employer to specify the degree requirement explicitly in the offer letter and job description so the LCA and visa application align with DOL and USCIS standards.
File promptly after receiving your certified LCA
Once the DOL certifies the LCA, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your DS-160, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation without delay. Appointment availability at Australian consulates can shift quickly, so acting within days of LCA certification shortens your overall timeline.

Find Hospice Director JobsHospice Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Hospice Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It surfaces Hospice Director roles from U.S. employers open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not sifting through postings that require existing work authorization. From there, you can also search the DOL's OFLC disclosure database for hospice or healthcare management LCA filings to identify employers with direct E-3 filing experience.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Hospice Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as healthcare administration, nursing, or social work. The key is that the degree requirement must be a genuine prerequisite for the role, not simply preferred. Roles that accept any degree or substitute years of experience without a formal educational requirement can face USCIS scrutiny at the specialty occupation stage.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Hospice Director roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap backlog, and no random selection process. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and a lottery that rejected most applicants in recent fiscal years. For a qualified Australian healthcare leader, the E-3 is a more direct and predictable path, with two-year validity and unlimited renewals as long as you maintain qualifying employment.
Can I change hospice employers after starting work on an E-3?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific. If you move to a new employer, they must file a new LCA with the DOL and you'll need to obtain a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S., or apply for a change of status if you're already inside the country. Plan the timing carefully to avoid a gap in work authorization between roles.
