Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Identity And Access Management Engineer
Frame your credentials around U.S. specialty occupation standards
Australian IAM engineers often hold three-year bachelor's degrees. Document your degree's equivalency to a U.S. four-year qualification before applying, since your employer's LCA filing depends on establishing your role as a specialty occupation requiring that credential.
Target employers with active federal contractor obligations
Federal contractors must use E-Verify and frequently hire IAM engineers to meet FISMA and FedRAMP compliance requirements. These employers already understand identity governance frameworks and are structurally set up to sponsor work visas.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find IAM Engineer roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship history. Employers who have sponsored Australians before move faster through the LCA and consulate process than those encountering it for the first time.
Negotiate LCA filing timing before accepting an offer
The DOL must certify your Labor Condition Application before you can attend your consulate appointment. Confirm your employer will submit the LCA within days of your start date agreement, not weeks, so your timeline doesn't slip before the consulate booking.
Align your job title to DOL-recognized IAM classifications
Vague titles like 'Security Engineer' can complicate the LCA prevailing wage determination. Ask your employer to use a DOL Standard Occupational Classification code that reflects IAM work, such as Information Security Analysts, to avoid wage-level disputes during certification.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and visa paperwork
IAM roles often involve complex scope descriptions that need precise wording in the LCA. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the Labor Condition Application, DS-160, and consulate preparation so your documentation accurately reflects your technical responsibilities.

Find Identity And Access Management Engineer JobsIdentity And Access Management Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Identity and Access Management Engineer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It surfaces IAM Engineer roles from employers with E-3 sponsorship history, which saves you from applying to companies that have never navigated Australian visa requirements. Filtering by sponsorship willingness early means you spend time on employers who already understand the LCA and consulate process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Identity and Access Management Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes. IAM Engineer roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a closely related field, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation definition. The key is that your employer's LCA must describe duties that genuinely require that specific degree, not just any bachelor's degree in any field.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Australian IAM engineers?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any time of year without waiting for an April registration window. H-1B selection is lottery-based with roughly a one-in-four chance annually. For Australian IAM professionals, the E-3 is the direct path, and it renews in two-year increments with no limit on the number of renewals.
Can I change employers or take a contract IAM role on an E-3 visa?
You can change full-time employers, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA before you begin work. Contract or third-party placement arrangements are more complex because the E-3 requires a direct employer-employee relationship. If your IAM role involves placement through a staffing firm or consulting company, your immigration filing needs to name the entity that controls your day-to-day work.
