E-3 Visa Interventional Radiologist Jobs
Interventional Radiologist roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a medical degree and residency training. Australian radiologists bring fellowship-level procedural skills that U.S. hospitals actively recruit. The E-3 has no lottery and renews indefinitely, making it a stable long-term visa for hospital and outpatient imaging center positions.

Responsibilities
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking additional Interventional Radiologists to join a growing and highly specialized practice.
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Division at Mayo Clinic Florida supports the needs of a destination medical center, delivering high-level care with a strong focus on interventional oncology and transplantation. The division performs more than 8,000 minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually, supported by 10 board-certified interventional radiologists in a state-of-the-art facility featuring four single-plane interventional suites and one CT/angiography hybrid room. With the planned addition of two new procedure rooms in 2027, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to support both a subspecialized outpatient IR practice and a robust, expanding inpatient service.
A well-established outpatient clinic supports a thriving consultation practice and has facilitated further IR subspecialization. The interventional oncology program is actively engaged in multidisciplinary tumor boards and offers a comprehensive range of transarterial and ablative therapies. We are particularly interested in candidates with subspecialty expertise or interest in:
- Treatment of secondary liver malignancies, especially metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC)
- Lung ablation
- Lymphatic disease management
The inpatient IR service is transitioning to a primary consult model, with substantial support from residents and advanced practice providers (APPs). Interventional radiologists participate in inpatient consult coverage on a rotational basis, integrated with primary call responsibilities. Additionally, IR faculty are responsible for the primary interpretation of diagnostic vascular imaging, including CT and MR angiography.
Consistent with Mayo Clinic’s mission of patient care, education, and research, the department fully supports the integrated IR residency, independent IR residency, and Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathways. Faculty members are expected to actively engage in teaching and research within both the interventional and diagnostic radiology training programs.
The Department of Radiology is further supported by 10 experienced advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs) who work collaboratively with IR faculty to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Interventional Radiologist
Verify your ECFMG certification before applying
U.S. employers require Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification before they'll file an LCA for international physicians. Have your ECFMG certificate ready alongside your Australian medical registration documents when you start outreach.
Target academic medical centers with existing J-1 programs
Hospitals that already sponsor J-1 visa physicians have established immigration infrastructure and are far more comfortable navigating E-3 paperwork. Filter your search to university-affiliated hospitals and large health systems with active interventional radiology fellowship programs.
Confirm state medical licensure requirements before accepting an offer
Your employer's LCA must list a specific work location, and DOL will tie the prevailing wage to that state. Some states have lengthy licensure timelines for international graduates, which can delay your start date even after visa approval.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and consulate paperwork
Interventional radiology sponsorship involves coordinating DOL Labor Condition Application certification with your hospital credentialing timeline. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, reducing the risk of documentation mismatches.
Search for E-3 sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate lists Interventional Radiologist roles from employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. Filtering by visa type saves you from pitching sponsorship to hospitals that have no process for it.
Negotiate a start date that accounts for LCA processing and consulate wait times
DOL LCA certification takes around seven business days, but Australian consulate appointment availability varies by city and season. Build at least six to eight weeks from signed offer to expected start date into your employment contract.

Find Interventional Radiologist JobsInterventional Radiologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Interventional Radiologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Interventional Radiologist roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, which means most results require you to individually assess each employer's willingness to sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility, so you're not starting blind.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Interventional Radiologist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Interventional radiology requires a medical degree, residency, and typically a subspecialty fellowship, which firmly satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation standard. USCIS looks for roles where a specific bachelor's-level or higher degree in a defined field is a minimum requirement. A physician position meets this without ambiguity, making E-3 eligibility straightforward for qualified Australian radiologists.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Interventional Radiologists?
The H-1B requires winning a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, meaning many qualified physicians wait years before securing status. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so an Australian Interventional Radiologist with a valid job offer can apply directly at a U.S. consulate without random selection. The E-3 also renews indefinitely in two-year increments, providing long-term stability that the H-1B lottery process cannot guarantee.
Can I work at multiple hospital sites on a single E-3 visa?
Each work location must be covered by a certified DOL Labor Condition Application. If your role involves procedures at more than one hospital or outpatient facility, your employer needs to file a separate LCA for each worksite or include all locations in a single LCA before you begin work there. Interventional radiologists working across affiliated campuses should confirm their employer has addressed all sites before the visa is issued.
