Responsibilities
As a member of our Policy Development team focused on Behavioral Health & Regulated Content (BHRC), you will serve as a content and product policy expert spanning a portfolio that includes: high-risk and regulated activities (e.g. dangerous acts, fraud and scams, counterfeit goods, and regulated goods and services); nudity and sexual activities; mental health; and youth safety. In this role, you will be part of a global Trust & Safety organization, helping lead our efforts to ensure that our BHRC policies protect the safety of our users while balancing free expression and enabling responsible commercial growth. You will establish and iterate policies governing the TikTok platform, provide subject matter expertise on the intersection of technology, media, health, and regulatory trends, and advise on how to unlock safe monetization within the respective policy domains. Responsibilities:
- Craft new and update existing content policies across the BHRC portfolio — covering high-risk and regulated activities (e.g. dangerous acts, frauds and scams, counterfeit, and regulated goods and services), nudity and sexual activities, mental health, and youth safety — for TikTok's global community.
- Collaborate with Policy Enforcement, Regional Policy, Product teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement and processes.
- Collaborate with Monetization and Commerce teams to define the policy boundaries for advertising, branded content, and creator monetization within BHRC domains, supporting the responsible opening of revenue opportunities where content is commercially viable but safety-compliant.
- Engage with Legal and Public Policy teams to ensure compliance with key regulations and be a consultant for any potential new regulations or government regulatory requests.
- Remain up-to-date on industry trends and emerging issues in the BHRC space and design policies & policy positions to address them on platform where necessary.
- Serve as the subject matter expert representative for BHRC efforts, in coordination with Regional Policy, Public Policy, Comms, and/or Outreach & Partnerships.
- Engage with external stakeholders to incorporate outside expertise into TikTok’s platform policies.
- Support the execution of the strategic vision for the BHRC team, working cross-functionally with other team members to optimize policy iteration, implementation, and training procedures to deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Public Policy, Human Rights, Media, Law, Academia, or a related field.

- Excellent ability to synthesize complex topics into concise and digestible materials.
- Deep understanding of technology, the Internet, social media, and/or platform content issues.
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with monetization policy, advertising standards, or platform commerce — particularly understanding how content eligibility, demonetization thresholds, and brand safety intersect with regulated or sensitive content domains.
- Familiarity with age-assurance, age-gating, or youth safety product mechanisms and their policy implications.
- Experience working with or within regulatory bodies, health agencies, or civil society organizations engaged in platform accountability or content governance.
- Background in clinical, public health, or harm reduction frameworks relevant to mental health content, substance use, or eating and body image topics.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Behavioral Health Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's in psychology or social work is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes, but include a credential evaluation letter from a NACES-approved evaluator in your application package to preempt employer hesitation.
Target health systems with existing LCA filing history
Large hospital networks, integrated health systems, and federally qualified health centers file LCAs regularly and have HR teams familiar with the E-3 process. Smaller private practices may have no sponsorship infrastructure, so filter your search toward established healthcare organizations.
Frame your role as a specialty occupation upfront
Behavioral Health Manager positions must require a specific bachelor's degree to qualify as a specialty occupation. When negotiating your offer, confirm the job description explicitly states a degree requirement in behavioral science, clinical psychology, or social work rather than listing it as preferred.
Clarify licensure portability before accepting an offer
State behavioral health licensure doesn't transfer automatically from Australia. Confirm with your prospective employer whether the role requires a U.S. LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license and whether they'll allow a grace period to complete equivalency requirements after your E-3 is approved.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and paperwork
Once you have a signed offer letter, the LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from LCA submission through consulate preparation, which is particularly useful when your employer has no prior E-3 experience.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions specific to this field
Behavioral health roles are often tied to community programs that attract long-term U.S. residency interest, which consular officers notice. Bring documentation showing your Australian professional ties, such as registration with AHPRA or membership in the Australian Association of Psychologists.
E-3 Visa Behavioral Health Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Behavioral Health Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for Australian professionals searching for Behavioral Health Manager roles with E-3 sponsorship. The platform filters by visa type and role, surfacing employers who have filed LCAs or have active sponsorship infrastructure. Generic job boards don't filter by E-3 eligibility, so you waste time on roles where sponsorship was never on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Behavioral Health Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in behavioral science, clinical psychology, social work, or counseling as a minimum entry requirement. The key distinction is that the degree requirement must be tied to the role itself, not just preferred. If the job description accepts any bachelor's degree regardless of field, the specialty occupation standard may not be met and your E-3 application could be challenged.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Behavioral Health Manager roles?
The E-3 is significantly more accessible for this role. There's no lottery, no annual cap pressure, and the 10,500 annual allocation for Australians has never been exhausted. H-1B visa requires entering a random lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate, meaning qualified candidates are rejected purely by chance. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is the more reliable path into U.S. behavioral health leadership.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Behavioral Health Manager?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with the new employer rather than transfer the existing visa. The new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp, which typically requires a consulate appointment in Australia or a third country. You can begin working for the new employer once the new E-3 is approved, so plan your transition timeline accordingly.
