E-3 Visa Speech Language Pathologist Jobs
Speech Language Pathologist roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship because they meet the specialty occupation standard: a bachelor's degree in communication sciences or disorders is the baseline requirement. Australian SLPs are in demand across U.S. hospital systems, school districts, and rehabilitation centers, and the E-3's no-lottery structure means you can start the process the moment you have a job offer.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Speech Language Pathologist
Get your credentials assessed before applying
U.S. employers and state licensing boards will ask whether your Australian SLP qualification is equivalent to a U.S. master's degree. The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools does not cover SLPs, request a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized provider before you start applying.
Target employers who hold ASHA certification
Healthcare systems and school districts that employ ASHA-certified supervisors are already structured to support SLPs through licensure. Those employers understand credentialing timelines and are more likely to navigate provisional license periods alongside your E-3 sponsorship process.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Speech Language Pathologist roles by employers who have sponsored E-3 visas, so you're not guessing which facilities will support the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer.
Clarify your state license situation with your employer
Most states require full licensure before you can bill independently, but some issue provisional licenses during the credentialing period. Confirm with your employer whether your start date aligns with your expected state license approval, not just your E-3 approval.
Confirm the LCA wage level matches your role
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying they'll pay at least the prevailing wage for your SLP role and location. Check that the job description submitted on the LCA accurately reflects your duties, wage level mismatches are a common E-3 RFE trigger.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation carefully
USCIS requires that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For SLP positions, bring your Australian degree transcript, any ASHA equivalency documentation, and a letter from your employer confirming the degree requirement is part of the standard hiring criteria.

Find Speech Language Pathologist JobsSpeech Language Pathologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Speech Language Pathologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search SLP roles by employers with E-3 sponsorship history. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying to roles where the employer hasn't sponsored before. Migrate Mate surfaces positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process, which shortens the path from application to offer significantly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an SLP role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Speech Language Pathologist positions qualify because they require a specific bachelor's or master's degree in communication sciences and disorders. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation based on whether the degree requirement is standard for the role industry-wide, SLP roles meet that standard, and the requirement is well-established across hospital systems, school districts, and private clinics.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian SLPs?
The E-3 is substantially more practical for Australian SLPs than the H-1B. There's no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer can file any time of year and the process moves on its own merits. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap with a random selection process, meaning qualified applicants are regularly excluded regardless of their credentials or offer quality.
Can I start work before my E-3 visa is approved?
No. You need your E-3 visa stamp before you can enter the U.S. in that status and begin work. Unlike H-1B change-of-status cases where a filing receipt can sometimes bridge employment, E-3 applications are processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia. Plan your start date around the consulate appointment timeline at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
