E-3 Visa iOS Developer Jobs
iOS Developer roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, making it far more accessible than H-1B visa for Australian engineers ready to work in the United States.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an iOS Developer
Frame your Australian degree for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Include your transcript and a credential equivalency statement in your application materials so hiring managers don't flag it as a gap.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for software roles. Prior LCA filings for iOS or mobile developer positions signal that the employer already understands the E-3 sponsorship process.
Search iOS Developer jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters iOS Developer roles by E-3 sponsorship readiness, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored before. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
The job description must require a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field, not just 'preferred.' If a posting says 'degree or equivalent experience,' ask the recruiter to confirm the role is structured as a degree-required position before the LCA is filed with DOL.
Negotiate timing around LCA certification windows
The DOL certifies LCAs within seven working days under standard processing. Build that into your start date negotiation so your employer files the LCA at least two weeks before your target start, leaving buffer for consulate scheduling.
Prepare for visa intent questions at the consulate
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will assess your ties to Australia. Bring documentation of your job offer, the certified LCA, and any Australian commitments, such as property ownership or family connections, to demonstrate nonimmigrant intent.
E-3 Visa iOS Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find iOS Developer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australians seeking E-3 sponsorship and lets you search iOS Developer roles filtered by employers who are prepared to sponsor. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process. Standard job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, so you often can't tell whether a company has any experience with the E-3 until after multiple interview rounds.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an iOS Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation status at the job level, not just the job title. Roles where the employer accepts a wide range of unrelated degrees, or where no degree is strictly required, can fail the specialty occupation test and jeopardize your E-3 application.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for an iOS Developer in the United States?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply any time of year and start as soon as your visa is approved. The H-1B cap is 85,000 slots per fiscal year and requires a lottery registration in March, with a roughly one-in-four selection chance. For an Australian iOS Developer, the E-3 is a direct path without the year-long wait and uncertainty that the H-1B lottery imposes.
Can I change iOS Developer jobs while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll generally need to obtain a new E-3 visa stamp at an Australian consulate before starting the new role, unless you change status from within the United States. There's no portability mechanism on the E-3 equivalent to the H-1B's AC21 rule, so the new LCA and visa must be in place before you begin work for the new employer.
