E-3 Visa IT Engineer Jobs
IT Engineer roles in the U.S. qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related engineering field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian professionals can pursue these roles and start the sponsorship process year-round.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an IT Engineer
Translate your credentials before applying
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as U.S. equivalent under E-3 requirements. If yours is in a field adjacent to IT, gather transcripts and a credential evaluation letter to support specialty occupation status before your first interview.
Target employers with active LCA filings
The DOL's OFLC disclosure data lists every certified Labor Condition Application by job title and employer. Filtering for IT Engineer roles shows you which companies have already run the sponsorship process and are familiar with E-3 requirements.
Clarify sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Ask specifically about E-3 sponsorship, not H-1B. Many IT recruiters default to assuming H-1B when a candidate mentions visa sponsorship. Correcting that assumption upfront saves time and surfaces employers who understand the E-3 requires no lottery.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. This covers DOL certification, the DS-160, and consulate preparation so your start date isn't delayed by filing errors.
Confirm your role title maps to specialty occupation
Job titles like IT Support Specialist or IT Coordinator can fail E-3 specialty occupation review if the role doesn't require a specific bachelor's degree. Work with your employer to ensure the offer letter describes duties that align with a degree requirement, not just preferred qualifications.
Understand the 240-day rule before switching roles
If you're already in the U.S. on an E-3 and changing employers, you can work for the new company under the 240-day rule while the new petition is pending. File the new LCA and DS-160 before your current status expires to maintain continuous authorization.

Find IT Engineer JobsIT Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find IT Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces IT Engineer roles at employers with E-3 and H-1B filing history, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with sponsorship. Filter by role and location to find positions where the employer already understands the LCA and visa process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an IT Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. IT Engineer positions that require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering discipline meet the specialty occupation standard. The risk area is roles where the employer's job description says a degree is preferred rather than required, which can complicate the LCA and consulate review. Your offer letter should state the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for IT Engineers?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian IT professionals. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and the 10,500 annual allocation has never been exhausted. H-1B registration runs once a year with roughly a 25% selection rate. An IT Engineer on E-3 can start working as soon as the visa is issued, without waiting for a lottery result or a fiscal year start date.
Can I switch IT Engineer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp at a consulate or, if you're already in the U.S., a new I-94 through a border entry. The 240-day rule lets you keep working for the new employer while the new documentation is processed, provided you file before your current status expires.
