Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Network Security Engineer
Get your credentials formally evaluated
Australian bachelor's degrees are three years, which some U.S. employers flag as non-equivalent. A credential evaluation from a NACES-approved provider confirms equivalency to a four-year U.S. degree before your E-3 sponsorship process begins.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for network security or information security roles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands the E-3 sponsorship process.
Find E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Senior Network Security Engineer jobs where employers have active E-3 and LCA sponsorship history. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service also handles your LCA filing and consulate paperwork once you have an offer.
Clarify your job duties match specialty occupation requirements
Before accepting an offer, confirm the role's written duties require specialized cybersecurity knowledge, not just general IT support. Ambiguous job descriptions risk LCA issues if DOL audits the position's specialty occupation classification.
Time your LCA filing around your start date
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before your consulate appointment. DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but build in buffer time so your consulate appointment doesn't outpace the certified LCA paperwork.
Prepare documentation linking your degree to the role
Consular officers assess whether your specific degree field supports the network security position. Bring transcripts, a letter from your employer explaining the degree requirement, and any relevant certifications like CISSP or CISM to your visa interview.

Find Senior Network Security Engineer JobsSenior Network Security Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Network Security Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is purpose-built for this search. It surfaces Senior Network Security Engineer roles at employers with verified E-3 and LCA sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored an Australian professional before. Standard job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which wastes significant time in your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Network Security Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like computer science, cybersecurity, or information systems. The role must require that degree, not merely prefer it. Network security positions with hands-on architectural or engineering responsibilities typically satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria without difficulty.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Network Security Engineer roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and allows unlimited two-year renewals. The H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25 percent selection rate in recent years. For a Senior Network Security Engineer with Australian citizenship, the E-3 is a significantly more direct and predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Senior Network Security Engineer?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA certified by DOL and a new consulate appointment or change of status application. You cannot simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow. Starting the process early after accepting a new offer avoids gaps in your work authorization.
