Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an IT Program Manager
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes. Document how your IT, engineering, or business qualification directly supports the program management role, USCIS officers look for field-specific alignment, not just any degree.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for program management roles before already understand the DOL certification step. Prioritize those employers, they're less likely to stall or withdraw an offer because the E-3 process is unfamiliar to their HR team.
Clarify the LCA before accepting an offer
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment, and it lists the specific worksite and wage level. Confirm your employer understands this sequence, an offer letter alone won't get you an E-3 interview slot.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
IT Program Manager roles often involve complex worksite arrangements or contractor structures that complicate LCA filings. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, reducing the risk of delays from documentation gaps.
Address third-party worksite arrangements early
If the role places you at a client site rather than the sponsoring employer's office, the LCA must reflect the actual worksite address. Raise this with your employer before filing, getting the worksite wrong on the LCA requires a new application and restarts your timeline.
Renew your E-3 before each new program ends
The E-3 is tied to your employer and role, not a fixed multi-year authorization. If a program concludes and your title or responsibilities shift materially, your employer may need to file a new LCA to reflect the updated position before your next renewal.

Find IT Program Manager JobsIT Program Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find IT Program Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter IT Program Manager roles by employers with E-3 sponsorship history. Most general job boards don't surface visa sponsorship details, so you can waste significant time pursuing roles where the employer has never sponsored an E-3 or isn't familiar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an IT Program Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, typically IT, computer science, business information systems, or engineering. Roles where the employer would accept any degree regardless of field can fail the specialty occupation test, so the job description language matters significantly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for IT Program Manager positions?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply anytime you have a job offer rather than waiting for an April selection cycle. H-1B requires USCIS petition approval before you start, while the E-3 is processed directly at the consulate after your employer secures a certified LCA from the DOL.
Can I change IT Program Manager roles while on an E-3?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA before you can begin working for them. Unlike H-1B portability, there's no grace period that lets you start work while the new LCA is pending, you need the certified LCA and an updated visa stamp or I-94 before the new employment begins.
