Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Learning And Development Manager
Frame your credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree in HR, education, or organizational psychology meets the E-3 specialty occupation standard. Document how your degree field directly connects to the L&D Manager role, not just general management, when preparing your visa evidence.
Target employers with dedicated L&D functions
Mid-to-large companies with standalone learning teams are far more likely to sponsor E-3 visas than those where training sits inside a generalist HR role. Search for organizations with Chief Learning Officer titles or dedicated learning academies in their public job postings.
Address the LCA requirement early with employers
Before accepting an offer, confirm the employer understands their DOL Labor Condition Application obligation. The LCA certifies your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your location and role, and it must be filed before your consulate appointment.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
L&D Manager roles sometimes draw scrutiny over specialty occupation status. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA filing, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation so your application reflects the degree-to-role connection clearly and consistently.
Leverage instructional design certifications strategically
CPLP or ATD certifications strengthen your E-3 application by demonstrating specialized professional standing beyond your degree. Include them in your resume and visa support documents as evidence of specialized expertise in the learning and development field.
Clarify E-3 renewal timing before your start date
E-3 visas are issued in two-year increments with no cap on renewals. Confirm with your employer that they'll support renewal filings before your current visa expires, since your continued authorization depends on their ongoing LCA and sponsorship commitment.

Find Learning And Development Manager JobsLearning And Development Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Learning and Development Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Learning and Development Manager roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't flag E-3 willingness explicitly, so targeting employers with a history of sponsoring Australian professionals saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome, not just a possibility.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Learning and Development Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as human resources, education, instructional design, or organizational development. Roles where any degree field is acceptable, or where a degree is preferred but not required, can create complications. Your job offer letter should specify the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Learning and Development Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, meaning you can apply any time of year once you have a job offer. H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25 to 30 percent selection rate. For Australian L&D professionals, the E-3 is a direct path that bypasses the uncertainty and multi-year wait that H-1B applicants face.
Can I switch to a different L&D employer after arriving on an E-3?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to your sponsoring employer. If you change jobs, your new employer must file a fresh Labor Condition Application with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa or an E-3D change of employer notation before you start work. Leaving your sponsoring employer without a new visa in place ends your authorized status.
